Season 2 of Love Island USA is finally here. After many months of waiting, the sexy singles are out of quarantine and coupling up on the rooftop of a Vegas casino. There’s a hot tub, a secret hot tub, and more astro-turf than anyone’s seen since 1972. Just a few episodes in, the couples are already off to a swinging start. But there’s one girl who’s grabbing all the attention, and that’s Cely. What is it about this twenty-four-year old Sacramento native that’s just so dang irresistible? Let’s take a look.
Yes, yes, yes, she is definitely attractive. She’s more than attractive, she’s a flat-out hottie. But, all the Islanders are good looking. So while she is hot, it’s not as if she’s the only hot person in a group of navel-gazing uggos. So her hotness can’t be the key to her record-breaking desirability. Okay, well, she’s into Star Wars and astrology. But so is every Millennial/Gen Z-er. Honestly, it’s hard to go anywhere these days without getting stuck in some kind of star-centric conversation. That’s just the world we live in now. So what is it? What is it about Cely that sets hearts racing?
It’s the thing you can’t put your finger on. She’s little, but has a big, bright personality. She likes traditional dating and eschews dating apps, but simultaneously claims there’s nothing traditional about her, that she was never the little girl dreaming about her big wedding. She would never let a man tell her what to do or wear, but immediately rules men out of the dating pool based on their astrological signs. She’s a big ol’ walking contradiction, but she’s aware of it and wears it like a badge of honor. And that’s the kind of confidence you can’t find just anywhere. It’s a completely intangible quality that transforms the averagely good looking woman into an outrageously irresistible queen. Confidence is just sexy. But there is a catch. Confidence gone too far slips down the slippery slop of arrogance. The perfect balance is difficult to achieve.
Cely’s got the “it” factor that money just can’t buy. She loves herself, but she does it with a natural grace and charisma that draws you to her. And though these Islanders say they’re there to find a relationship and love, if we’re being real, they’re looking for a way to stand out from the crowd. It’s only natural then that they would all want to couple up with the person who’s got that natural ability. You want to be Cely’s friend, her partner, or maybe just stand next to her in the hopes that her vibes are contagious. Everyone wants to be Cely.
But if you can’t be her? The next best thing is dating her. So get in line, people, because Love Island season 2 has only just begun.
