Parks And Rec: 10 Amazing Quotes From Donna Meagle | ScreenRant

Parks and Recreation was a mockumentary comedy that followed a group of parks department employees in Pawnee, Indiana as they dealt with and attempted to serve the Pawnee citizens and it also followed the characters' personal lives outside of the office.

Donna Meagle (portrayed by Retta) is a side character in the series, but she has stood out as part of the main cast due to her hilarious dialogue and commentary on the events surrounding her and the main characters. Donna was known for her quick wit and blunt delivery that slowly but surely developed her character throughout the series.

10 Use him. Abuse him. Lose him. That's the Meagle Motto. Grammy Meagle taught me that.

Donna is giving Ann advice on how to rebound after a bad break-up and to get her off of her serial dating kick as she wants to turn every interaction with a potential partner into a dedicated relationship instead of having fun dating.

Donna also goes on to say her Grammy died at 84, sandwiched between two 30-year-olds to give some hilarious imagery to the Meagle motto.

9 I have several men in rotation.

Donna easily establishes that she enjoys dating around and has several quotes about her very full and enjoyable dating lifestyle.

This quote is quick and to the point and she even adds to it by saying that one of the men she's dating is out waiting in the car, but Leslie and Ann shouldn't worry because she cracked the window for him.

8 I'm live-tweeting this dumbass conversation.

Tom and Donna are both obsessed with social media throughout the series, constantly live streaming walks to get coffee, and checking Twitter at every free moment.

Donna is confident and unapologetic with her Twitter and frequently tells people that they can just unfollow her if they don't like her feed, although it has gotten her into trouble like when she accidentally tweeted from the official parks department Twitter.

7 Snitches get stitches.

Although this Donna quote isn't original it's still a funny moment when she says the line in the series to Tom's friend Jean-Ralphio. Tom has to sell his shares in the Snakehole Lounge club because it interferes with his government work after he sends an email to his connection promoting the club.

Tom wonders why Donna didn't have to sell hers and she says that they don't know and it's a secret, delivering this line to Jean-Ralphio who happens to be in the room as well.

6 If I had an hour alone with Robert Pattinson, he'd forget about Skinny Legs McGee, I'll tell you that much.

Donna has talked about being a Twilight fan throughout the series and one episode even focused on a man trying to get the books into a Pawnee time capsule.

Donna has read the books and seen the movies multiple times and isn't shy about how attractive she finds lead actor Robert Pattinson.

5 I would like to address the goofy looking, dirty kimono wearing, corn-rowed clown in the room.

When Ron falls back into a life with Tammy II the parks and recreation team has an intervention to try to convince him that Tammy II is not good for him. Donna doesn't waste time as she tells Ron exactly what she thinks of him when he's with Tammy II.

During the intervention, Ron is dressed in a kimono and corn-rows, which is wildly different than how he's looked in the seasons and Donna's right to bring attention to it.

4 You wanna make a baby, Traeger? Your hair, my everything else, that kid would be unstoppable.

Ann and Chris are deciding whether they should have a baby together and be co-parents so a therapist suggests that they take a compatibility test to see if they're a good match. Donna, out of curiosity, takes the test and finds that she and Chris are extremely compatible according to their answers.

As usual, Donna's confidence shines through and she says that they should have a baby together because her everything combined with Chris's hair would make an unstoppable kid.

3 Normally, people tell you to talk about your problems. I'm gonna recommend you bottle that noise up.

Donna delivers this line to Ann as she won't stop complaining about her issues with Andy and Donna can't take it anymore.

This line sums up Donna's initial reaction to people who complain and vent to her and yet she usually does end up being kind-hearted even after a line like this which makes her character more complex and caring. She's quick to distance herself emotionally from her co-workers, but she's always a supportive and reliable character nonetheless.

2 He's a linebacker. Skill positions only for Donna Meagle.

An Indianapolis Colts player tries to approach Donna and talk to her, most likely asking for her number or a date, and she immediately dismisses him.

Ben Wyatt is standing next to her and says that that guy is a professional athlete who plays for the NFL and maybe she'd want to talk to him and Donna quips back with this line.

1 Treat yo self.

Donna and Tom's iconic tradition of treating themselves one day of the year has become one of the most popular running gags in the series. The day includes the two going out, usually going shopping, and buying expensive things just to treat themselves as they say "treat yo self" anytime they question whether they actually need the expensive things.

The first episode this is introduced sees them inviting Ben along and convincing him to buy a realistic Batman costume.
