Winona Ryder plays the role of Joyce Byers, the caring and headstrong mother of two of the shows other protagonists Will and Jonathan Byers. The first season of the show primarily focuses on the disappearance of Will and his mother's quest to find him.

Her 2010 film Black Swan is the highest-rated entry here, and tells the story of a ballerina (played by Natalie Portman) as she descends into insanity in her strive for perfection. Ryder has a comparatively small role in the movie, but it is the most critically acclaimed film of her career nonetheless.

9 David Harbour - End of Watch (2012) - 7.6/10

David Harbour's character in the series, Jim Hopper, is the brave and courageous chief of police in the town of Hawkins where the events of Stranger Things takes place. As the only adult in a lead role besides Joyce, he plays a vital in the plot, acting as an adoptive father for Eleven in the later seasons.

Mike Wheeler, played by Finn Wolfhard, is one of the members of the trio of friends initially introduced in the series who are looking for their friend Will. Although their group of friends eventually expands into a much larger form in later seasons, the core will always be the focus.

And based on Stephen King's novel of the same name, the plot of It tells the story of 7 children who are terrorized by a supernatural being with a clown-like appearance. Grossing over $700 million against a budget of $35 million, the film broke box-office records and is the highest-grossing horror movie of all time.

7 Millie Bobby Brown - Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - 6/10

Millie Bobby Brown plays Eleven, a character with telekinetic and telepathic powers who is at the heart of everything going on in Stranger Things.

Her film Godzilla: King of the Monsters was the sequel to 2014's Godzillawhich in turn was a reboot of the long-running Japanese franchise oriented for a more international audience. In the movie, she appears in the role of Madison Russell, the daughter of the two scientists who engage the monsters known as "Titans" in the movie. With a rating of 42%, the film turned out to be both a commercial and critical failure.

6 Gaten Matarazzo - The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019) - 6.4/10

Gaten Matarazzo's character Dustin Henderson is most famously recognized by his intelligent and humorous nature.

He voices the pig "Bubba" in The Angry Birds Movie 2, which, according to Rotten Tomatoes ratings is the highest rated movie based on a video game with a score of 73%. The angry birds and the pigs, who have always been sworn enemies, team up to take down a weapon that threatens both their species.

5 Caleb McLaughlin - High Flying Bird (2019) - 6.2/10

Caleb McLaughlin is featured in the role of Lucas Sinclair, the oldest among the core group of friends in Stranger Things.

Directed by Logan Lucky director Steven Soderbergh, High Flying Bird is a sports drama centering around an agent who partners up with an amateur basketball player to execute a risky business idea. A Netflix original, the film is unique in the sense that it was completely shot using only an iPhone 8. It is director Soderbergh's second film to be filmed with a phone only.

4 Charlie Heaton - Marrowbone (2017) - 6.6/10

Charlie Heaton's character Jonathan Byers is the elder brother of Will, and one of the more mature members of the group of youngsters, with a quiet and shy nature.

Marrowbone is a Spanish horror film about the three siblings of the Marrowbone family, who are haunted by a menacing apparition when they move to their family's former ancestral home. The film also stars Split actress Anya Taylor-Joy as one of the siblings. It had its international premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and currently sits with sub-par reviews and ratings on IMDb.

3 Joe Keery - Molly's Game (2018) - 7.4/10

Joe Keery's character Steve Harrington has gone through some drastic character development throughout the course of the series. Initially introduced just as an annoying bully, by the third season he had grown up to be good friends with the other kids, especially Dustin, and acts as sort of a parental figure at times.

2 Natalia Dyer - I Believe in Unicorns - 6.1/10

Nancy Wheeler, portrayed by actress Natalia Dyer in the series, is the elder sister of Mike Wheeler. Unlike many of her co-stars who have mostly opted to star in blockbuster movies, Dyer has stuck to indie, small budget movies.

I Believe in Unicorns is a coming of age love story between two teenagers. It features Natalie Dyer in the role of Davina and Peter Vack as Sterling, two youngsters in love who decide to escape from their tedious daily lives, but in the process discover how incompatible they are.

1 Noah Schnapp - Bridge of Spies - 7.6/10

Noah Schnapp plays Will Byers in the show and the first season of Stranger Things revolves around his friends trying to find him after his sudden disappearance.

He also appeared in the 2015 film Bridge of Spies directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks, who plays James B. Donovan, a lawyer trying to free Francis Gary Powers, an American pilot being held in captivity by the Soviets. Schnapp appears in the role of Roger Donovan, the young son of James Donovan. The film is one of the highest-rated cold war movies on IMDb and achieved six Oscar nominations.
