Ever since shows like Gilmore Girls went off the air, there has definitely been a hole in the TV landscape. Viewers looking for something cozy and kind-hearted have finally found the perfect series in the Netflix hit Sweet Magnolias. It was recently renewed for season two and fans want to spend more time with Maddie Townsend, her friends and family, and her exciting love interest, Cal Maddox.
Perhaps Noreen will come back in the second season and that could definitely stir up some drama. But until then, fans of this sweet (no pun intended) Netflix show can look for their zodiac sign in the major characters who live in the town of Serenity.
12 Aquarius: Maddie Townsend
Maddie Townsend (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) is a sweet and wonderful TV mom, and she has many qualities of an Aquarius sign.
Some zodiac signs are sensitive and silent most of the time and others are always loud. Aquarius signs have a bit of a split personality in this way. They are equally friendly and ready to party and then they need to have some alone time. Maddie is like this too, as she's nervous when around people she doesn't know, but she's super comfortable around her friends and family.
11 Pisces: Annie Sullivan
Anneliese Judge's character, Annie Sullivan, is the daughter of Dana Sue and doing everything that she can to make it through the rest of her time in Serenity.
Annie is an emotional and sensitive young photographer who definitely has the soul of an artist. She runs her own Instagram account and takes photos around town, and she should definitely be encouraged as she's very good. Annie is a Pisces for sure, as she sometimes lets her feelings run wild.
10 Aries: Erik Whitley
Dion Johnstone's character, Erik, is a love interest for Dana Sue and it'll be interesting to see if anything happens in the second season.
Aries signs can relate to Erik, as he's got a lot of passion for his job as a chef at Dana Sue's restaurant. He doesn't mince words if he has something important to get off his chest.
9 Taurus: Dana Sue Sullivan
Dana Sue Sullivan (Brooke Elliot) is such a passionate and talented chef, she could definitely earn a spot on the Netflix hit Chef's Table.
It's tough to think of someone on this series who is more stubborn than Dana Sue. When she has a health crash and has to change her diet and lifestyle, it's hard for her to wrap her mind around not being in control all the time. Dana Sue always wants to be in charge and she has trouble letting go.
8 Gemini: Cal Maddox
Cal Maddox (Justin Bruening) is in love with Maddie, and anyone who is a Gemini has similar traits to him.
Geminis are bored to tears by the same schedule all the time, and Cal definitely seems like he enjoys mixing it up and having a good time. Geminis can be fun and smart but they can also be really serious about things. Even if Cal seems happy-go-lucky at times, he's serious about Maddie and wants to make things work.
7 Cancer: Bill Townsend
Some Sweet Magnolia cast members are familiar and that includes Chris Klein, who plays Bill. People who recall him from the American Pie franchise will find a very different character here.
Bill has some traits of Cancer signs, as he's more sensitive than he appears, he doesn't want people to know much about him, and he has a tendency to be nostalgic. It's clear that Bill knows he messed up by cheating on Maddie and he wants his old family life back.
6 Leo: Tyler Townsend
Tyler Townsend (Carson Rowland) is Bill and Maddie's oldest son, and he's got many traits of a Leo sign.
Because he's the most talented player on his baseball team, Tyler has a bit of a superiority complex. He's not a jerk as his mom raised him right, but he does want people to throw compliments his way. It's impossible for him to imagine that anyone else would get to start in each school game, and he wants to be the best.
5 Virgo: Noreen Fitzgibbons
There's a bit of a love triangle between Cal, Maddie, and Bill, and Noreen Fitzgibbons (Jamie Lynn Spears) is the one who set that off. She and Bill have an affair and he leaves Maddie for her.
Noreen seems like a Virgo, as despite her homewrecking ways and reputation in the town of Serenity, she's actually a fairly nice and quiet person. She feels uncomfortable being around town as she can tell that people don't like her, and she would rather stand by quietly and hope that no one notices her than be the center of attention.
4 Libra: Helen Decatur
Heather Headley's character, Helen, is an incredible lawyer, businesswoman, and friend. She is there for the people in her life constantly and she is the best shoulder to lean on that there is.
Helen is totally a Libra. She's all about being equal and fair and she helps her clients, family members, and friends find happiness and get to the next stage of their lives.
3 Scorpio: Kyle Townsend
Logan Allen's character, Kyle, was in a car accident in the season one finale and fans are crossing their fingers that he's going to make it.
Kyle is an artistic kid who doesn't like sports or anything, really, that his brother Tyler is interested in. Kyle wants to see musicals and he has a soft spot for Noreen as he's the type of person who roots for the underdog. After all, he feels like he's that person himself as he doesn't fit into his family. Kyle would be a Scorpio as he's passionate and full of fire. He can easily be in a bad mood and feel envious of other people.
2 Sagittarius: Ryan Wingate
Helen's old boyfriend Ryan Wingate (Michael Shenefelt) seems like a Sagittarius. If any character is up for adventure and wants to travel and never wants to settle down, it would be Ryan.
Unfortunately for Helen, this is a big issue, as she wants them to be together and have a baby. Ryan isn't hearing it as he wants to be free and he doesn't want to be tied down to Serenity.
1 Capricorn: Katie Townsend
The youngest Townsend child, Katie (Bianca Berry Tarantino), seems like she would be a Capricorn.
These zodiac signs really love being part of a warm, cozy family and that's what Katie is like. She's the youngest Townsend kid and she wishes more than anything that her parents would get back together. Since she's so young, she believes in the tradition of marriage and family, and she just wants everything to work out alright.
