10 Most Underrated Attractions at Walt Disney World | ScreenRant

In addition to the dazzling atmosphere, scrumptious eats, and incredible cast members (from a Sunglass Hut in Adventureland to the hotel lobby of Art of Animation), Walt Disney World is also known for its impeccable attractions. This is not limited solely to rides, though. Shows and character interactions can be attractions, too!

While some attractions are known the world over (from Splash Mountain to Haunted Mansion), others are a bit less popular outside of extremely niche Disney fan circles. There are attractions at Disney World that are profoundly underrated. They may be popular or unpopular, beloved or derided, but these all deserve a much fairer shake than they receive.

10 Frozen Ever After

Frozen Ever After may be one of the most popular rides in the entire resort (kids clamor for Fastpasses to this Frozen experience). However, it is typically mocked by Disney fans as an "unworthy" replacement for the previous attraction in its space, Maelstrom.

This is blasphemy, though! Frozen Ever After is an incredible attraction with some of the best songs from the Frozen universe, reverence for the landscapes of the film, and nearly flawless Audio-Animatronics. This ride in Epcot is a must for Frozen fans.

9 Under The Sea - Journey Of The Little Mermaid

Speaking of rides themed after beloved Disney princess films, it took a long time for Ariel from The Little Mermaid to garner her own ride in the Magic Kingdom! Fortunately, Under the Sea does her plenty of justice.

Located in the back of Fantasyland, adjacent to Storybook Circus, Under the Sea is a magical dark ride that is in the lineage of some of the classic theme park dark rides at Disney. Each ride scene features a musical set piece and storytelling is clearly paramount. Not much fervor is to be had for this ride, but there's no denying its classical qualities.

8 Na'vi River Journey

Whenever Animal Kingdom drops its ropes for the day, park goers understandably flock to Pandora's Flight of Passage, a breathtaking, one-of-a-kind experience that sends travelers soaring through other realms. However, the other attraction in Avatar's Pandora is just as viable.

Na'vi River Journey is more of an ecological boat ride through Pandora, complete with state-of-the-art technology, gorgeous visuals, and immersive environmentalism. The story of Na'vi River Journey is one that embodies the best of Animal Kingdom and it deserves more critical attention.

7 Carousel of Progress

Na'vi River Journey is one of the newest rides at Walt Disney World. Yet, one of the oldest happens to be over at the other kingdom, the Magic Kingdom. That's right, Carousel of Progress is a staple of the Disney theme parks, but it's still perennially underrated.

Situated near Space Mountain, many dismiss it in favor of more obvious thrills and others deem it to be just plain boring. However, it's a warm, soothing, comforting experience that takes guests through the twentieth century. Plus, Jean Shepherd's voice cascades over ears like butter.

6 Mickey's Philharmagic

Another show in Walt Disney World that gets an unfair reputation is Mickey's Philharmagic. It's not necessarily better than Carousel of Progress, but it is more underrated. It tells the story of Donald Duck gallivanting across many classic Disney films.

It's not only a quick way to beat the heat, but there's almost never a line for the show. Plus, some Disney tunes are always a great way to perk up the day! Mickey's Philharmagic is a solid utility player in Fantasyland.

5 Soarin' Around The World

In the Disney fan community, one does not have to look far to see people complaining about Epcot doing away with Soarin' Over California, the original virtual hang-gliding experience in the Land pavilion. However, Soarin' Around the World deserves way more credit!

It takes the same Soarin' experience and transports it across the entire globe! The oceans of Fiji, the twinkling lights of Paris, the bustling community of Sydney! It's all here! There's no experience like it.

4 Slinky Dog Dash

Slinky Dog Dash may always have a supersized wait over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, but it deserves a large amount of credit for this. It's not an overhyped attraction; it's just new. Those who have insulted it for being "for kids," though, are missing the point.

Slinky Dog Dash is a brisk, breezy experience across the land of Toy Story. It features a genuinely adorable performance by Slinky Dog, some unexpected bounces, and a really fun finale. It's short, but it's sweet and a solid double from Disney's Imagineering team. Not everything needs to be "bigger and louder."

3 The Seas With Nemo And Friends

This sentiment certainly holds true for The Seas with Nemo and Friends. The dark ride through Finding Nemo is a cute experience that features all the classic characters beloved from the 2003 Pixar film.

However, this ride is not the only aspect of the attraction at Epcot! The Seas with Nemo and Friends is also comprised of an aquarium with all kinds of fish, including seahorses! It's delightful, charming, and educational. It's definitely an underrated Disney experience.

2 Gran Fiesta Tour

Also in Epcot is the Gran Fiesta Tour, a boat ride situated in the hub of the Mexican pavilion at World Showcase. This ride is largely focused around Jose Carioca and Panchito trying to find Donald Duck, who has been lost in Mexico.

However, the best part of the ride (and what makes it so vastly underrated) is the beginning, when the boat sails along a river during a simulated nighttime against the San Angel Inn restaurant nearby. It's one of the most beautiful views in all of Walt Disney World.

1 Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover

However, few attractions provide views as beautiful as those seen from the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover! This ride takes guests on a ten minute, grand circle tour of Tomorrowland.

It's so relaxing, peaceful, and fun to travel the park from above! The train cars also pass through Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and Space Mountain, providing a completely unique perspective on them! To be honest, this ride is so underrated that it wouldn't be a bad idea to just spend the entire day on it. Not a bad idea at all.
