90 Day Fiancé: Kalani's Mother Doesn't Think Her Marriage Will Last

The 90 Day Fiancé franchise is no stranger to tumultuous relationships or emotional breakups. However, in the spinoff show 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, the latest couple that may be headed to a breakup is Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa.

In the latest season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Kalani and Asuelu’s relationship has truly been tested. From Asuelu’s money-hungry sister and mother to Kalani’s family’s disapproval, the parents of two are struggling to keep their little family together. The pair were thrust together when Kalani fell pregnant with their first son, Oliver, after a summer romance in Samoa. The two decided to make their relationship work. Asuelu got a K1-Visa and they got married. However, before their wedding, Kalani fell pregnant again, this time with their second son, Kennedy. Throughout the marriage, Kalani resented the fact that Asuelu didn’t help with the children as much as she would have liked, and Asuelu stood firm in his traditional idea that child-rearing was reserved for the mother. Their opposing views continued to drive a wedge between them. Kalani’s parents, Low and Lisa Faagata, have been skeptical of the relationship since the beginning, as they claimed the Samoan native was too immature for the responsibility of being a father and a husband.

According to CheatSheet, Kalani and Aseulu are still facing marital issues. In fact, Kalani’s mother Lisa doesn’t think her daughter’s marriage will last. Their marriage seems to be so far gone that Kalani wasn’t even sure if Asuelu would be present at the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Tell-All. The reality star kicked Aseulu out of the house when the COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak because Asuelu refused to abide by the social distancing guidelines. Kalani commented on the status of their relationship saying, “We haven’t been communicating well or at all.” She professed that she had “low expectations” of a reconciliation.

Kalani’s mother has seen Asuelu disrespect Kalani when he called her daughter a "lying b*tch" in front of her, so she doesn’t hold the Samoan native in high regard. Lisa chimed in at the 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All and said, “It’s not gonna last. She’s not gonna put up with this stuff. There’s no way.” If things don’t change, and fast, it may be splitsville for the young couple.

Kalani and Aseulu both come from different worlds and their cultural differences have continued to be points of contention in their relationship. Throughout the fifth season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After the two have argued over money, Aseulu’s immaturity, and his contribution to childcare. Each argument has ended with no clear resolution. There may be hope, but we have to stay tuned to see what the couple decides to do.
