Cyberpunk 2077 Won't Be Delayed Again | Screen Rant

Fans can rest assured knowing that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be delayed any further, with developer CD Projekt Red confirming that the game is on schedule and should release as planned in November. However, there was no word on next-gen versions of the game, even though Nvidia recently showcased how Cyberpunk 2077 might look on more advanced hardware as part of its promotion for the new GeForce RTX GPU.

Cyberpunk 2077 has already seen several delays. The title was originally set to launch in April of this year but was subsequently delayed for several months after CD Projekt Red admitted in January that it would not be ready in time for that date. Instead, the game was pushed back to September, although the studio would later announce that Cyberpunk 2077 was getting delayed again, this time until November. The delays were related to the developer wanting to add more polish but also because of the effects of COVID-19, which has had a major impact on the gaming industry as a whole.

The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the studio does not expect a further delay to Cyberpunk 2077, saying that the game will be out by the end of the year. Speaking in a YouTube video detailing the studio's financial results, CFO Piotr Nielubowicz explained that the game was still on schedule and specifically pointed out that by the time the next video of this kind is published online, Cyberpunk 2077 will have launched. Considering that the next financial report is due in December, that means that the game is still on track for its November 19th release date. Nielubowicz later went on to say: "Yes, remote work does pose challenges, but we're coping."

"When we meet again in this format, Cyberpunk 2077 will already have been released so keep your fingers crossed and tune in to upcoming Night City Wire broadcasts."

Earlier this summer, CD Projekt Red also revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 would be backward compatible with next-gen consoles. That means that those who buy the game on launch day can upgrade it for free when it becomes available for the new systems.

The news that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be delayed any further will reassure fans. The lasting impact of COVID-19 on the gaming industry and the fact that many high-profile games are delayed during the last few months of development has led to many concerns that the title might miss its scheduled November launch. With the developer seemingly confirming the release date is all but certain at this point, players can rest easy knowing that they will soon be able to play this highly-anticipated game in just a few months.
