10 Shows On Disney+ With The Best Halloween Episodes | ScreenRant

Disney+ is ready for the Halloween season, and the streaming service is one of the best places to go for spooky family content. Disney might not have the scariest movies or shows in the world, but they know how to get subscribers excited for Halloween. With a large library of both original and acquired works, there is plenty to choose from.

10 Boy Meets World

Why not start with the oldest and best? A binge-watch of Boy Meets World reveals that the sitcom has one of the highest volumes of Halloween episodes ever! There's the one in the first season where Cory cheats on an IQ test, then "Who's Afraid of Cory Wolf" in season two with werewolf Cory, and season five has two of the show's scariest episodes ever.

"The Witches of Pennbrook" features Candace Cameron as Jack Hunter's witchy new girlfriend, and the episode aired on Halloween. "And Then There Was Shawn" technically first aired in February, but the fan-favorite story has gone down in history as "The Scream Episode."

9 Even Stevens

The Even Stevens Halloween episode ("A Very Scary Story") is one of the show's kookiest storylines of all, and it definitely scared some kids back in the day. Louis's hilarious antics are fully realized with his penguin jockey Halloween costume, Twitty is a caveman, Tawny looks like Jasmine from Aladdin, and Tom dons his signature sailor suit. As for Ren, she's busy taking over the school, with Principal Wexler as her mad scientist and Coach Tugnut as the hunchbacked henchman.

The evil authorities zap away the students' eyes under the auspices of annual eye examinations. The entire student body (except for sly Louis) is seen walking around the school drinking milk while wearing blinking sunglasses. Just as Ren is turning everyone into a duplicate of herself (calling them "Renplicates"), the scene cuts to Louis telling the tale to a young, terrified Beans and passing it off as last year's Halloween.

8 Lizzie McGuire

The "Night of the Day of the Dead" Lizzie McGuire episode was one of the scariest on Disney Channel. Lizzie's school is having a Halloween festival, and of course, Kate has put herself in charge of everything. She steals Lizzie's thunder by wearing the coveted "slinky" vampire costume after making Lizzie clean out the janitorial closet. Kate also snubs Miranda's ancestors and won't give them a place of prominence in observance of Día De Los Muertos.

Miranda's parents help Lizzie, Miranda, Gordo and Matt get revenge on Kate by making her think the ancestors are out to get her. The zombified Lizzie is the most frightening the character would ever get, and it's still a classic episode that tons of people are streaming.

7 The Proud Family

The Proud Family's "A Hero for Halloween" is definitely a fan-favorite episode. Lil' Romeo is the special musical guest at Wizard Kelly's Fright-tacular, but Penny isn't in the spooky spirit since she thinks Halloween is for kids.

Penny's mom encourages her to get out and have some fun. When she can't get into the big event, she eats her dad's "Scary Snacks" and suddenly becomes a superhero who must save the Lil' Romeo party and then rescue her family from an evil ghost.

6 That's So Raven

The season two Halloween episode of That's So Raven, "Don't Have a Cow," is one of the best-costumed episodes of the series. Raven and Chelsea are having burgers at The Chill Grill, but the burgers are accidentally switched so that Raven gets Chelsea's veggie burger and Chelsea, a vegetarian, gets Raven's beef burger. This is not good for Chelsea, but it gets worse when she and Raven get their hands on a spellbook and a cauldron to try to become popular at Alana's upcoming costume party.

Chelsea's anti-meat pin falls off her jacket and right into the potion, along with the required lock of her hair. Raven and Chelsea transform into actual cows, but then it all turns out to be part of Raven's vision, so she is able to save Chelsea from eating the beef burger in the first place. This 2003 episode was a fun taste of Wizards of Waverly Place, a show which dealt with the supernatural more than That's So Raven.

5 Phil Of The Future

Don't forget about Phil of the Future's "Halloween." This episode fulfilled fans' darkest imaginings of Debbie Berwick, transforming her into an evil cyborg. The usually peppy and perfect girl is building her creepy empire of Berwick's Angels, in which 50,000 cupcakes are in progress at the school.

It's fun to relive this episode on Disney+ because Raviv Ullman breaks the fourth wall at the end, leading into an extended blooper reel.

4 The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody has one of the best Halloween episodes Disney ever made: "The Ghost in Suite 613." Zack and Cody and Maddie and London share the plot and must work together, which is always an interesting twist. They all wind up in Suite 613, despite Muriel telling them, "If you value your life, don't go in there." The ghost of Irene has haunted the suite for years, and Mr. Moseby gets a groovy flashback of his first days at the Tipton. Arwin pulls out his robotic vacuum creation in homage to Ghostbusters.

Things get freaky when Esteban leads a séance, while the kids attempt to stay there overnight. The whole charade is everyone's practical joke on Zack. Even the most devoted fans forget that there was another Halloween episode in the third season called "Arwinstein," featuring a giant robotic likeness of the beloved character on the night of London's big party.

3 Wizards Of Waverly Place

Wizards of Waverly Place technically only has one Halloween episode: the second episode of season three, "Halloween." The Russo family gets ready for the night by setting up a haunted house at the Sub Station. When the setup isn't scary enough, Alex calls in some help from the ghosts of the wizarding world. It's not nearly as scary as some other episodes, but that's the beauty of Wizards.

The other frightening sagas throughout the show's four seasons will make for a chilling All Hallows' Eve. With those vampires, werewolves, and Harry Potter-esque Wiztech episodes, the series is a safe bet for jack-o-lantern season.

2 Good Luck Charlie

Good Luck Charlie's Halloween episodes are classic. The show set a precedent for more recent Disney sitcoms getting multiple Halloween specials. The Duncans had most over-the-top decorations for their house, and their costumes were on point. In season two's "Scary Had a Little Lamb," Amy and Bob Duncan dress as each other (meaning that Bob goes as a nurse and Amy wears an exterminator uniform). PJ is a goth, Teddy is Mary, Charlie is her little lamb, and Gabe trades his headless costume for some cowboy duds. Ivy's jean jacket with the fake bloody ax in the back is quite convincing.

Music buffs might notice that the normally cheery theme song is turned into scene change music in a haunting, minor mode. The remaining seasons would follow with Toby's first Halloween in "Le Halloween" (season three) and Teddy's Halloween caroling in "Fright Knight" (season four).

1 Girl Meets World

Girl Meets World took after Boy Meets World with some quality Halloween episodes. The spin-off was unique in creating three Halloween specials, one for each of its seasons on the air. These "Girl Meets World of Terror" stories were divided into parts one, two, and three.

They retained a quirky thread, with Auggie breaking the fourth wall to introduce each unique tale for the first two parts: monsters under the bed and kids afraid of the dark, and then a 1920s flapper ghost for Maya and Riley and The Wizard of Oz costumes for the younger kids. The second installment is a very theatrical crossover episode with Austin & Ally.
