Jax Taylor confirmed the newest season of Vanderpump Rules will begin filming in October. Jax's announcement comes shortly after SUR reopened for business, as the restaurant has been closed over the summer due to the pandemic.
Even though there has been a delay in filming VPR due to COVID-19, the drama and baby boom announcements from the cast have been nonstop. Jax and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, recently shared the news that they are having a baby boy. This exciting revelation followed on the heels of former cast member Stassi Schroeder announcing she is having a baby girl, and Lala Kent sharing the news that she, too, is expecting a girl. Even Jax's frenemy, James Kennedy, weighed in on the current events and stated that he thinks Jax will be a good father. However, Jax shouldn't be expecting any well-wishes from new cast member Dayna Kathan anytime soon. Dayna has not been too pleased with Jax's behavior as of late. Jax is no doubt ready and willing to respond to Dayna. But instead of responding on social media, Jax can now respond on camera. Jax confirmed the good news that filming for VPR season nine is set to begin during the month of October.
Jax revealed the details of filming the newest season over Instagram, as shared by The Real Andy Of Beverly Hills. Jax cut right to the chase and told his fans, "We’re supposed to go back to filming. Vanderpump Rules is supposed to go back to filming." Jax then shared the timing of when they are going to start filming. He said, "In fact, we were supposed to go back this month, in fact, I think. We’re supposed to. That’s the last I heard. We were supposed to. But it’s just a matter of when they’re gonna allow us." It makes sense that producers would need to have a plan in place before filming can start again for the cast. Take a look at Jax's announcement for yourself below:
Regarding the plan for cast and crew to begin filming, Reality Blurb reported that "an insider told The Sun that Bravo is waiting for 'more to open up in California for the safety of crew and cast' before starting production." It was also noted that VPR cast members, Tom Sandoval, Tom Schwartz, Scheana Shay, Raquel Leviss, and James Kennedy have been seen at SUR after the restaurant reopened its doors. However, it's not clear at this time which VPR cast members have signed up to film the newest season. Lala Kent recently expressed doubt regarding her return to the show, but she hasn't confirmed either way. Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni will not be returning after being fired last season for racist behavior.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting news of whether or not VPR will begin filming again, and it's only fitting that the self-proclaimed "number one guy in the group" is the one to deliver the news. It will also be a welcome sight for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans to see Lisa Vanderpump back in her element leading the pack once again. Hopefully the cameras will begin rolling in October sooner rather than later; with the big baby boom currently happening for the Vanderpump Rules crew, there is already a lot of material to cover.
