Dancing with the Stars: What Mischa Barton from Season 22 Has Been Up To

Mischa Barton joined the cast of Dancing With The Stars season 22 back in 2016, but was eliminated in Week 3. She danced a Tango, Cha-Cha-Cha, and finally a Samba. She scored all 5s and 6s from the judges for each of her dances, and, in interviews afterwards, stated that she was happy to be eliminated. Though Mischa's fans were sad to see her leave the competition so early, she has said that she did not enjoy being on the show. Since her time on the show, Mischa has kept busy with a number of changes in her professional and personal life.

Mischa rose to fame at 17 for her portrayal of Marissa Cooper in the popular teen drama, The O.C., from 2003-2006. After her run on the show, she moved back to England, and gained a "party girl" reputation. She's had a number of legal troubles, first when she was charged with a misdemeanor, and later in 2015 when she sued her mom for allegedly stealing money from her, according to Marie Claire. In May of this year, however, it would seem that Mischa and her mom have since repaired their relationship. Mischa posted a touching tribute to her mom on Instagram, calling her "strong, beautiful, and ferocious" and professing how much she loves her.

After a few years of staying under the radar with a few small guest roles, Mischa came back into the spotlight with her appearance on Dancing With The Stars. After the show, Mischa landed the lead role in the psychological thriller Deserted, which premiered in 2017. In 2018, she was cast in Alex Wolff's coming-of-age drama, The Cat and the Moon, which received praise from audiences. Much of 2017-2018 was unfortunately dominated by a court case against her ex-boyfriend, who tried to sell explicit images of her without permission. She eventually won the case and filed a restraining order against him.

Mischa then began looking for acting opportunities, and was scouted by MTV. She decided to try the reality TV genre, and was announced as a main cast member in popular MTV reality show The Hills reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings. The show premiered in 2019, and was renewed for a second season, but sources claim that she won't be returning for the second season.

Mischa returned to her acting roots earlier this year when she briefly appeared alongside Stranger Things star, Joe Keery, in the independent horror comedy, Spree. The movie, produced by Drake, was released to mixed reviews at the Sundance Film Festival back in January. In April, Mischa also returned to modeling in an exclusive interview with Paper Magazine. She and her fellow Hills co stars also graced the cover of the April edition of Cosmopolitan. She shared some of the editorial photographs and outfits with her 450k followers on Instagram.

Since her time on Dancing With The Stars, Mischa has gone through many obstacles to make a comeback in TV and film. Let's hope that she gets to keep doing what she loves!
