Whether it's Disney animated movies, television sitcoms, or children's cartoons, there are more than a handful of female characters that have what it takes to win a fight. While some Disney animated movies are often about the princess that needs saving, sometimes there are a few occasions where they challenge these conventions.
Sometimes they are dedicated mothers who do whatever they can to protect their children. Sometimes they are skilled in combat and prove the strength behind their fists. As everyone knows, animated female characters don't always need saving. Better yet, they are the ones to call when needing backup.
10 Merida: Brave
Merida was a Disney princess, whose hobbies and interests didn't fit the role. Besides her flaming orange hair, it's what made her stand out from the rest. The stereotypical princesses stay away from any combat or weaponry. Merida was the exact opposite.
She perfected her skills in archery making her deadly to an enemy. Not to mention, she's also skilled in spears and sword-fighting. Merida showcased she has the grit and strength to stand up in a fight, even to stop her father from killing her mother, who turned into a bear.
9 Elsa: Frozen
Voiced by actor Idina Menzel, Elsa from the highly acclaimed Disney movie Frozen has more than what it takes to win a fight. It's not so much combat or fist fighting, but more to do with her powers. Audiences are introduced to Elsa's magical powers allowing her to control ice and snow.
Her powers can be deadly and can cause harm if used improperly. This lead to her being shunned away as a child until she finally "Let It Go." 6 Marge: The Simpsons
Between Marge and Lois, it's hard to say who would ultimately win in a fight. Marge is a tough cookie that can show her authority when need be. She's put Homer in his place a number of times. Throughout The Simpsons, fans have seen Marge show her tough side.
For instance, in one episode, she becomes a boxer. At first, she's a bit timid and kind. However, once seeing her opponent go after Bart, she turns into a fighting machine. Never underestimate a mother's strength when her child is in danger.
5 Mulan
Mulan was a Disney character who broke the mold of what a female lead character was meant to be. Unlike the princesses before her, Mulan wasn't a damsel in distress. From the start, she showed that she didn't want to marry and live a simple life. Instead, she agrees to join the army to protect her father.
There is where she manages to further improve her combat skills, including archery, sword-fighting, and resilience. Mulan was able to use these skills against Shan Yu and save her people. In the sequel film, Mulan is still a valuable warrior, worthy of escorting the three princesses to safety.

3 Kim Possible
This female character seems to be a no-brainer. Back in the 2000s, the Disney Channel show Kim Possible was a favorite. It was due to the fact that its main character was a heroic super spy. The whole premise of the show was a seemingly average teen girl who in fact saves the world from evil villains.
