Screen Rant has first look at the items coming as part of the next Deadpool Loot Crate, created to celebrate the Merc With A Mouth's Nerdy 30th. The comic book character was created by renegade comic artist/writer Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza, debuting in February 1991 in The New Mutants #98. Deadpool, also known as 'The Merc With a Mouth,' has gone on to become an iconic character for Marvel, crossing over into the realm of cinema, where he's been portrayed by Canadian star Ryan Reynolds.
Fans can satisfy their desire for more Deadpool content with Loot Crate's new Deadpool crate, starting tonight at 9pm PT / midnight ET. The new If Looks Could Kill crate celebrates Deadpool's 30th anniversary, and will be available until March 15, 2021.
The name will be familiar to Deadpool fans as the title of the first Cable & Deadpool collection. The swag in the crate includes a hoodie, fanny pack and more, and will start at $34.99 (plus shipping and handling). You can read the full details below:
Light the explosive candles and sing (badly) a song of celebration as Loot Crate honors Deadpool’s 30th birthday with the March ‘If Looks Could Kill’ crate. Deadpool’s Nerdy 30 anniversary crate will be the best birthday gift you could give to yourself or any fan of the Merc with a Mouth. Getting old doesn’t have to suck when you’ve got a crate filled with so much Deadpool goods and gear. Pop the confetti and unwrap the most amazing Deadpool swag you’ll find at any party, including a “Look at Me” Tee-Hoodie, Deadpool Fancy Fanny Pack and more. Blow up out the candles and enjoy another crazy year with everyone’s favorite wise-cracking assassin. To make sure the ‘If Looks Could Kill’ arrives before the party ends, be sure to order by March 15 at 9:00pm PST. Deadpool Crates start at $34.99 plus shipping and handling. Supplies (and birthday wishes) are limited.
The exclusive Deadpool-themed swag embraces a classic retro '90s feel, evoking the time period in which the character debuted. The color scheme also switches up Deadpool's traditional red costume for one that's a more lurid shade of pink, doubling down on the '90s aesthetic. The hoodie art, in particular, is classic Deadpool, straight out of the Liefeld era and featuring the multiple pockets the artist is known, and mocked, for. Deadpool also seems to be breaking the fourth wall on the hoodie, possibly swearing in response to the fact he's officially in his 30s.
The swag should tide fans over until the next comedy-action romp debuts. There was doubt about a Deadpool 3 happening, with Liefeld saying earlier this year he didn't think it would get made, but with new writers on board, it's clear Disney has found a way to keep Reynolds' version of the character going. Now get out and grab some of that sweet Deadpool swag.
