American Horror Story: The 5 Tallest (& 5 Shortest) Actors In The Cast

American Horror Story began its journey in 2011 with the premiere of “Murder House”. It had an intimate cast that included fan favorites, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, and Jessica Lange. Now famous for its recurring cast members that take on a variety of roles, nearly ten years later, the cast has grown into a large ensemble of talented actors of all ages, shapes, and sizes.

Whether they are playing a human or an otherworldly monster, there are plenty of differences in heights in American Horror Story's cast list.

10 Tallest: Cheyenne Jackson (Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse) - 6'3

Known for Glee, 30 Rock, and HBO's Watchmen series, Cheyenne Jackson began his American Horror Story career in season 5 as Will Drake.

He continued his work with the show as the devious host of "My Roanoke Nightmare", Ally's psychiatrist in Cult, and Level 3 warlock, John Henry Moore, in Apocalypse. Cheyenne Jackson is one of the taller actors in the anthology at 6 foot 3.

9 Shortest: Billie Lourd (Cult, Apocalypse, 1984) - 5'1

The daughter of Princess Leia herself, Billie Lourd is proof that talent runs in the family. She follows in Carrie Fisher's footsteps with her role as Lieutenant Connix in the Star Wars franchise.

Prior to her work as Winter in American Horror Story: Cult, she played Chanel #3 in Ryan Murphy's horror-comedy Scream Queens. She is the same height as her mother was, and stands at 5 feet and 1 inch tall.

8 Tallest: Billy Eichner (Cult, Apocalypse) - 6'3

Comedian, show host, and actor, Billy Eichner has done a bit of everything. Known for sitcoms such as Parks and Recreation and Difficult People, he is also a talented voice actor featured in Bob's Burgers, as well as the voice of Timon in Disney's live-action The Lion King.

He joined the American Horror Story crew in season 6 and is set to return once again in season 10. Eichner is 6'3.

7 Shortest: Naomi Grossman (Asylum, Freak Show, Apocalypse) - 5'

Known for her dramatic transformation into Pepper in American Horror Story: Asylum and Freak Show, Grossman has been involved in many projects since the 1990s including guest work in Casual, Good Girls, and a small role in Sabrina The Teenage Witch.

She is one of the shorter members in the cast at exactly 5 feet tall, but she is far from the shortest.

6 Tallest: John Carroll Lynch (Freak Show, Hotel, Cult, 1984) - 6ft 3 ¼

John Carroll Lynch got his start in acting in the early 90s, and since then has enjoyed a successful career for himself, working in big names such as Fargo, Gran Torino, and HBO's Carnivale.

The real magic happened with the birth of Twisty the Clown when he chilled fans to the bone with the murderous entertainer in Freak Show, a character he later reprised in Cult. Lynch is just over 6'3 tall.

5 Shortest: Leslie Jordan (Coven, Roanoke, 1984) - 4'11

Most famous for playing the affluent rival of Karen in Will and Grace, Leslie Jordan has enjoyed a long and rich career in Hollywood. He has graced American Horror Story with his talent and that sweet, Southern accent since his role as warlock Quentin Fleming, in Coven.

Jordan stands at a mere 4'4, but he has enough personality and confidence to make him seem 10 feet tall.

4 Tallest: James Cromwell (Asylum) - 6'7

Many 90s kids know James Cromwell from his beloved role as Farmer Hoggett in Babe. Cromwell took on an entirely different and disturbing part during his stint in American Horror Story.

The actor won an Emmy for his terrifying portrayal of Arthur Arden, the Nazi mad scientist that conducted secret experiments on Briarcliff asylum patients. Cromwell stands at a shocking 6 foot 7 inches tall.

3 Shortest: Ben Woolf (Murder House, Freak Show) - 4'4

Ben Woolf was one of the shortest recurring actors in the series and stood at 4 foot 4 inches tall. He appeared in two seasons of the show before a tragic accident that led to his death at only 34 years old.

First appearing in Murder House, he played Infantata, a creature created through horrific experimentation by the deranged Dr. Montgomery. He returned later as Meep in Freak Show.

2 Tallest: Erika Ervin (Freak Show, Apocalypse) - 6'8

Erika Ervin - known by her stage name, Amazon Eve - stands at a towering 6 foot 8 inches tall. Prior to being cast in the hit horror series, the actress worked as a part-time actress, model, and fitness trainer.

Other than being in two seasons of American Horror Story, she has also appeared in Hemlock Grove and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

1 Shortest: Jyoti Amge (Freak Show) - 2'1

Jyoti Amge was born in Nagpur, India, and at nearly 27 years old, she only stands barely over 2 feet tall. It was too easy for fans to fall in love with the adorable and innocent Ma Petite in American Horror Story: Freak Show.

The soft-hearted performer may have met a fateful end in the show, but the sweetness of her short time on the series made her leaving it all the more heartbreaking. Who knows? Maybe she will find her place in a future season.
