Bachelorette: Ex-Husband Josh Bourelle Says Tayshia Used Cheating For Sob Story

Fans of The Bachelorette are well aware that Tayshia Adams was previously married to Josh Bourelle, a roofer from Santa Ana, CA.  But Josh hadn't spoken about his ex-wife being the Bachelorette...until now. In a revealing and polarizing interview with Reality Steve, Josh revealed his true feelings about his relationship with Tayshia and her joining The Bachelor franchise, including his opinion that Tayshia used his cheating as a "sob story" on Colton's season and on her season of The Bachelorette.

Tayshia first joined The Bachelor franchise during Colton Underwood's season, where she was one of the final three. She opened up to Colton about her failed marriage and hinted at the fact that she was cheated on. Later that summer, Tayshia made waves during Bachelor In Paradise by falling for John Paul Jones. After that relationship didn't work out, she replaced Clare Crawley on this quarantined season of The Bachelorette after Clare made a swift exit with her now-fiancé Dale Moss. Tayshia has made sure to never mention her ex-husband by name and even complained when ABC's subtitles accidentally included his name. Tayshia's ex-husband, however, is not having it. He took to Reality Steve's podcast to unload all of his frustrations with Tayshia, and there were quite a few.

First, Josh complained Tayshia never told him she was going to be on The Bachelor, although they had been divorced for two years when she signed up. He also complained that, while Tayshia never used his name, a quick Google search of "Tayshia Adams ex" would reveal his identity. He continued to vent his frustrations with Tayshia to Reality Steve, saying, "Her going out and saying that I cheated on her and that was the reason for our divorce on national TV, I felt like, kind of crossed the line a little bit... I feel like she was using that as her sob story to make her look better. It was hurtful to me. We’re humans. She made just as many mistakes — maybe even more mistakes than I did over the course of our relationship."

Josh admitted he did cheat on Tayshia once when she was out of town. After Tayshia told Colton about getting cheated on, Bourelle expressed his annoyance at having to explain the story to his family, his family's church friends, and his girlfriend. He said he felt like Tayshia "threw him in the gutter," and even potentially messed with his roofing business by outing his cheating. Bourelle's view of why things ended has little to do with his infidelity, but rather, he says, was a culmination of many factors, including a lack of support from Tayshia. He admitted that "the point that I was at when I made that mistake and I came clean about that mistake too, was I was not happy with our relationship." Tayshia, on the other hand, was clearly hurt majorly by Bourelle's infidelity. In the most recent episode of The Bachelorette, she explained to Zac Clark that cheating is an absolute deal-breaker to her due to how much it hurt her. When she thought Zac had cheated on a past girlfriend (which technically he did, though it was in 6th grade), she explained that being cheated on is something she never wants to go through again.

Josh Bourelle is not exactly gaining sympathy for his complaints that Tayshia used her actual experiences as a "sob story" on The Bachelor. Tayshia has a right to tell her story and be honest about the things that have hurt her, especially when looking for her life partner. Josh is now reaping what he sowed and can't seem to handle the consequences, though he has no issue complaining about them to all of Bachelor Nation.
