With BioWare gearing up for what fans hope may be a return to form in the Dragon Age and Mass Effect universes, the studio teased the gaming world a few days early with a guarantee that it would be bringing something new to show from Dragon Age 4 to The Game Awards, which has only grown in scale and industry importance since its inception in 2014. On a star-studded night marked by high-profile reveals, the RPG studio managed to subvert skeptics' left somewhat unimpressed by the game's previous concept art-filled Gamescom trailer with a more substantial look at what players can expect of the anticipated fantasy sequel.
Showing characters (with a possible off-camera appearance by Varric as narrator), assets, and locations, Dragon Age made its full, non-concept art appearance at The Game Awards 2020. Though little is still known and BioWare still acknowledges that it's early in development, the below trailer left the studio's fans jaws on the floor:
