Love Island USA star Carrington Rodriguez appears to have unfollowed Laurel Goldman on Instagram, who in turn still follows him on the social network. Finding love in the Las Vegas villa wasn't exactly a straight line for 22-year-old Carrington from Salt Lake City, Utah. He started out the season coupled up with Kaitlynn Anderson, but they quickly figured out that there was nothing there between them. So he then re-coupled with newbie Kierstan Saulter, with whom he developed a more solid relationship. That said, their fling ended shortly before the Casa Amor twist.
At Casa Amor, Carrington Rodriguez re-coupled with Laurel Goldman, and they did make it to the Love Island USA season 2 grand finale together, against the odds. One would think that Carrington and Laurel would make a solid third place at the finale, despite being less popular than winners Caleb Corprew & Justine Ndiba and runners-up Johnny Middlebrooks & Cely Vazquez. However, it didn't help that Carrington almost had his head turned at the last second when Lakeyn Call was brought into the villa. As such, it wasn't surprising when Carrington and Laurel placed fourth at the finale.
As of December 2020, Love Island finalists Carrington and Laurel have made it very clear that they broke up and are currently single. During an Instagram Live with co-star Johnny Middlebrooks, Carrington revealed that he never considered his relationship with Laurel as "dating" - in his eyes, they were just "talking." This week, just ahead of the New Year, the fans noticed that Carrington no longer follows Laurel on Instagram. As of this writing, Carrington does seem like he has unfollowed Laurel on the social network, as evidenced in the screenshot below. In turn, Carrington's profile still shows up in Laurel's "following" list, at least for now. It should be noted that Carrington still currently follows Kierstan Saulter on Instagram, but he doesn't follow his other Love Island flings Kaitlynn Anderson and Lakeyn Call.
Given that Kierstan Saulter still seemed to have feelings for Carrington Rodriguez after he dumped her from the villa, some Love Island USA fans believe that she could be interested in pursuing him outside of the villa now that he is single again. He hasn't said a word about that, but his decision to deliberately follow Kierstan even after unfollowing Laurel does seem interesting. Nonetheless, it is always possible that this doesn't mean a thing, and that Carrington simply has a better post-season friendship with Kierstan than he has with his other Love Island entanglements.
While the fans wait for Love Island USA season 3, they keep speculating about the stars that made season 2 so unforgettable. Long live the Las Vegas villa!
