Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four movie is officially confirmed by Kevin Feige with Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts to helm. Feige first teased a Marvel Cinematic Universe Fantastic Four movie at San Diego Comic-Con last summer. The rights to Marvel's First Family were acquired when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox's film and TV assets.
There have been two separate live-action Fantastic Four movie series, with the first spanning two films and the latter being largely dead on arrival due to poor critical reception. As a result, many were excited by the prospect of a Fantastic Four movie produced by Marvel Studios. Now, that film has a director.
As announced by Feige during the Disney Investor Day 2020, Marvel Studios Fantastic Four is moving forward, with Watts set to direct. Watts directed both MCU movies Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. He's also set to direct Marvel and Sony's untitled Spider-Man 3.
More to come...
