RHOBH: Is Teddi Mellencamp's Daughter Slate Working Out Too Much?

The Real Housewives of Beverly Housewives star Teddi Mellencamp is being called out for filming a video of her daughter running on a treadmill and people are worried the reality star is overworking her daughter.

Teddi Mellencamp has become somewhat of a controversial figure. She appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from season 8 to season 10 until she was axed from the show. Her departure coincided with complaints that her All In By Teddi fitness company was harmful and dangerous to people’s health. The reality star has vehemently denied these claims and continues to back the plan as a safe and effective method for weight loss. A representative from her camp spoke to The Blast saying, “We strongly object to these claims that our methods and practices were the cause of any of these alleged issues." They went on to say, “Our approach involves around a daily intake of 1100-1200 calories, similar to many other popular (and safe) wellness programs, to help our clients jumpstart a pattern of cleaner eating and more exercise." Many customers do not agree with these sentiments, as they say the program requires them to consume 500 calories a day. They had to send profile pictures timely and send videos of themselves working out 60 minutes a day. If they did not, they would immediately be dropped from the program and out $700. The program takes accountability to the extreme and many believe it could be a pathway to eating disorders and obsessive exercising.

This is why fans were concerned when Teddi Mellencamp posted a video on her Instagram of her daughter running on a treadmill. Even though her oldest daughter, 8-year old Slate, seemed to be enjoying the workout, fans were not happy. A fan commented, “I don’t like this where did body positivity go,” but it was quickly deleted, along with other disparaging comments. Teddi Mellencamp is having none of it and many fans quickly came to her defense and saw nothing wrong with her daughter exercising, especially since it was helping her as she was having trouble sleeping.

Despite issues with Teddi Mellencamp's checkered past with fitness company and skepticism surrounding her All In By Teddi program, this may not be the issue to raise pitchforks for. Exercise is recommended for children, especially during this time when they are not in school during COVID-19. It keeps their mind stimulated and it helps them sleep much better at night.

The former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is simply trying to do what she thinks may work for her children. Mom-shaming is rampant, and it's even worse when you’re in the public eye. Teddi Mellencamp is doing her best and that’s what most mothers do.
