Watch A Home Alone Scene Perfectly Recreated as a Gingerbread House

Fans of the iconic Christmas film Home Alone can now watch a scene from the film perfectly recreated as a gingerbread house. Released on November 16, 1990, Home Alone tells the tale of Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin), who is accidentally left behind when his family leaves for France and then has to fight off two thieves trying to rob his house. The film has become an eternal favorite of families during the holiday season, thanks to its countless hilarious scenes and message regarding appreciating family. Fox initially released home Alone, but thanks to the Disney-Fox merger, it’s now available on Disney+, and the streaming service has found a unique way to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Home Alone, “Disney+ enlisted food artist Michelle Wibowo to recreate the McCallister home entirely from gingerbread and icing,” and it can now be seen in a video uploaded by the official Michelle Sugar Art YouTube channel. The incredible creation shows the Home Alone house and street, and Wibowo’s enthusiasm for Home Alone shines through in the video. She highlights some of the many hidden details included in the recreation, such as Kevin “crashing off his sled into the snow.” Incredibly, it took “300 hours” to create the “1.25 meters wide by 1.7 meters long” gingerbread scene. It also included “63 trees, 33 windows, 14 pizza boxes, and 6 lamp posts” to complete this creation. The full video can be seen below:

Disney+ is not stopping here when it comes to Home Alone, as a reboot is coming to the streaming service. However, not everybody is keen on the reboot, and that’s why this Home Alone gingerbread creation is a fun treat to celebrate the original version fans know and love.
