April has always stood out as the Grey's Anatomy character that's most in touch with her feelings. She always worries about the little things but the same concern about little things has made her such a good doctor. April is also known for not filtering her words. She airs out all her thoughts on the go, leading to plenty of awkward yet touching moments.

Her flaws aside, April is completely adorable. Those who get into relationships with her tend to fear losing her. Jackson even pulls the biggest shock of them all by confessing his love to her on her wedding day. Never mind that Jackson's girlfriend Stephanie is present. April has been the center of plenty of tear-jerking moments, leading to some touching statements from her.

10 "I Haven't Done Anything Yet. I Haven't... I've Barely Lived! I, I'm Not Finished Yet."

As many fans know, the hospital shooting was one of the most heartwrenching episodes. Many people lost their lives and a few of the main characters were placed in imminent danger, including April. When she finds herself confronted with the shooter, she begs him to spare her life, stating facts about her life.

April then tells him that she's barely achieved anything in her life and would wish to live a little more. Since April had only just been reinstated to the hospital after being fired for medical negligence, fans knew how desperate she was to achieve take advantage of this second chance. For her story to be cut short now was truly heartbreaking.

9 "I Wanted My First Time To Be Special."

The doctors never mind mixing work with pleasure. They date each other all the time. However, April isn't like them at first. She grew up as a reserved girl and has always been religious. At one point, the residents share their first-time sexual experiences. April doesn't feel like she fits into the conversation but is forced to contribute anyway.

She narrates how her first time happened at a beautiful beach during the sunset. The group doubts the story and concludes she's a virgin. April rightfully defends herself, saying she is waiting for the right person. At this moment, fans were pleased to see April refuse to put up with their ridiculing and finally demand the respect she deserved.

Just before she gives birth to baby Samuel, April reflects on death. She wonders how patients feel when they lose loved ones. Viewers might remember that she once caused a patient's death after missing a step during the examination process.

April feels that doctors do their best and some outcomes can't be totally prevented. In moments of grief, all they can do is offer words of consolation to patients and hope it helps. Sadly, she ends up suffering a loss too as baby Samuel dies shortly after being born.

7 "I'm Not Happy That Everything I Thought I Was Turns Out Not To Be True."

April has always wanted a happy life. She has dreamt of a perfect family with Jackson and a perfect career. However, things haven't always gone her way and she's been forced to doubt herself on several occasions. As Jackson is about to leave Seattle in season 8, he assumes she'll be fine but it's hardly the case.

She lists a couple of things that make her sad. She tells him that she is sad she's not a board-certified surgeon. She also makes her sad is that she has broken some of the vows she made as a Christian. She arrived at Grey-Sloan with a lot of dreams and now she was leaving with so many uncertainties. It was heartbreaking.

6 "If Something Seems Like It Can't Be Fixed, Doesn't Mean It's Broken."

April says this when she realizes that she is pregnant just when she is separating from Jackson. She comes up with the words while treating a trauma patient, implying that her relationship with Jackson isn't necessarily a bad one. While they are not meant to be, at least they have their friendship to fall back on.

This is basically April resigning herself to fate. She knows that she and Jackson have had some amazing moments and if fate pairs them again in the future, it's okay. If not, that's fine too. As long as they are part of each other's lives, she is happy.

April was a bit short on confidence after being rehired but she eventually became an excellent surgeon. She saved plenty of lives and went on to become Chief Resident of Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. Given the good work she has done, April wonders why God would punish her with such a big loss (baby Samuel) instead of blessing her.

Even though what has happened to her is purely scientific (Samuel had Type II Osteogenesis Imperfecta), April isn't wrong for choosing religion to air out her frustrations. Her belief in God has always driven her so it wasn't surprising to see her turn towards her faith to make sense of the tragedy.

4 "The Hospital You Call Home Shuts Down, Just When You're Finally Starting To Feel Like You've Got Your Life Together."

There's a reason why April cares about her job a lot more than others. She's been fired before, she has made mistakes, and she has even quit before being brought back by Owen. By season 9, her career appears to be finally running smoothly. She is thus alarmed when Shane tells her that he's heard a rumor about the hospital being shut down.

The rumors are that Pegasus is planning to buy the hospital before liquidating all its assets and laying off the staff.  When Shane comes to talk to her outside the hospital, she makes a lengthy speech about misfortunes always happening when things are starting to go well. Poor April couldn't catch a break.

Being pregnant and alone is not what April pictured. All she ever wanted was for her and her husband to be able to start a family together, but that doesn't seem to be happening. When a CVS  is done on her baby to determine which type of OI it has, the viewers see tensions grow between April, Jackson, and her mother.

Jackson brings up the topic of the results again in the presence of Karen, April snaps and allows everyone to see the fear she masked. Even though she is surrounded by support, she feels more lost than ever. Everything is happening so fast that she doesn't know what to do anymore. It was one scene that left everyone lost for words.

April's friend Arizona has her own relationship woes with Callie. To offer herself some consolation, she narrates how a patient had met the love of his life when he was 85. April argues that she wouldn't want to find a soulmate so late. While Arizona feels that April is turning the conversation and making it about herself, it still doesn't stop the viewers from sympathizing with her. Everyone could see how much she loved Jackson and how heartbroken she was that it didn't work out.

April's sisters have always had a habit of bullying her ever since she was young. They even nicknamed her "Duckie" meaning "Ugly Duckling." Even though she is grown, they still see her as the girl who had acne and braces.

During her bridal shower, April's sisters continue to mock her and she snaps. She tells them that she is an amazing woman now and warns them not to disrespect her like that. It's an amazing moment since April finally stands up for herself after years of perseverance.
