Sitcoms might not get the credit they deserve in the hierarchy of television content, but audiences have never forgotten that comedies are the shows that get them through the darkest times and produce the most lovable characters - Parks and Recreation was such a show.
Set in the fictional city of Pawnee, Indiana, the NBC sitcom established the premise that anybody can have a story worth telling, even the members of a Parks and Recreation department from a small suburban town. With that said, whichever member of the Pawnee Parks and Rec department is your favorite will definitely say something about you.
10 Chris Traeger
Chris was brought in at the end of season 2 and quickly made his presence felt with his constantly upbeat attitude, as well as having an obsessive infatuation with keeping his body fit and healthy. Aside from that, Chris also ended up becoming Ann's husband, father of her child and held the position of City Manager until he ultimately handed it over to Ben when he left.
If Chris is your favorite character, you might have an energy that's cranked a teeny-bit too high for most of the people around you - but fear not, for your friends, family, and colleagues love you all the more because of it.
9 Ben Wyatt
Another member brought in at the end of season 2, Ben stuck around even longer than Chris due to finding his soulmate in Leslie. But other than being Leslie's other-half, Ben was also known for his love of board-games and his accounting abilities (not to mention becoming a mayor when he was only 18).
So, if Ben is your favorite character to watch, perhaps you're a person who enjoys meeting new people, especially when they mesh perfectly with the other people you've already accumulated around yourself.
8 Ann Perkins
Ann might have left before the series came to a close, but spent the first six seasons becoming Leslie's best friend in the entire world while also being a stellar nurse. Since her job as a nurse wasn't much of a reason for Ann to stick around after the pit got filled in, she eventually took up a position at city hall, as well.
If your favorite character is Ann, it's quite possible you're a person who is capable of handling a lot (whether it comes to your personal life or your career) but you might also prefer having your friends and loved ones around you while you're doing it.
7 Donna Meagle
Donna wasn't properly utilized until the back-end of season 2, but once the show gave her some screen-time it was apparent that Donna was the true bad-ass of the department. The laundry list of accomplishments Donna achieved in her life is practically endless, yet she still found the time, and humility, to excel at a menial office job.
If Donna is your favorite character, it's very possible that you're a unique genius who is just as capable of flying around the world as you are under the radar, never revealing your full arsenal of abilities to anybody.
6 Jerry Gergich
Regardless of the fact that Jerry was almost always the butt-of-the-joke when it came to the parks and rec department, he never took the jokes too personally and never let them bother him, especially because he knew that he got to go home to his beautiful wife and lovely daughters every night.
If your favorite character is Jerry, there's a slight chance that you're an empathetic person who understood that the good-natured ribbing the department constantly gave Jerry was out of love. It's also possible you're a person who is capable of looking past the negative things in your life and focus entirely on the positive.
5 Tom Haverford
Tommy Timberlake never hid the fact that he loved the 'finer' things in life, plunging himself into debt simply to try and live a luxurious lifestyle that was well beyond his means. That said, Tom had an incredibly thrifty, entrepreneurial mindset that allowed him to bounce right back every time he got knocked down.
So, if Tom is your favorite character, maybe it's because you also have a mindset that allows you to overcome adversity and obstacles that get in your path - just try to be sure that you aren't the one getting in your own way by overindulging on shiny, expensive things.
4 Andy Dwyer
Starting off as a recurring character that was so funny he made his way into the core-cast, Andy was essentially a toddler in an adult's body. Make no mistake, his child-like tendencies and mannerisms made him adorable to his friends/colleagues, but his productivity only hit its peak once April helped to level him out.
With Andy as your favorite character, you might be a person who still enjoys a lot of the things that you did as a kid, but that certainly doesn't mean that you're immature. It's also possible that you're a person who simply needs a little guidance/leveling-out in order to reach your true potential.
3 April Ludgate
April was the character that evolved and grew the most over the course of the series. Starting out as a lazy intern who couldn't have cared less about the job, April turned into a self-sufficient adult who ran her own department, got married to a lovable man-child, and eventually decided to make a career out of helping other young, uninspired children find their passion.
If April is your favorite member of the Pawnee Parks and Rec department, it's a safe bet that you're a person who refuses to change for anyone/anything and is totally happy finding the people in your life who not only accept you for who you are but actively encourage it.
2 Ron Swanson
You'd be hard-pressed to find a manlier-man than Ron Swanson, a fan-favorite character who (when he wasn't badmouthing the government he worked for) spent most of his time hunting, fishing, and woodworking. That said, Ron's character did develop over time from a person who couldn't stand the government or other people... to a person who could stand both slightly better.
Ron Swanson being your favorite character probably means that you're tough-as-nails and are more than capable of handling any tool you could find. But, it might also mean that you have an occasional soft-side that you don't mind sharing with the rest of the world.
1 Leslie Knope
The unquestionable leader of the parks and rec department (and arguably all of Pawnee) Leslie Knope was the greatest civil servant that has ever lived on television. She did everything within her power (and the power of anybody foolish enough to help her) to make Pawnee the greatest town in the world.
If Leslie is your favorite character, it might be safe to say that you have a go-getter attitude that is unbreakable, especially when it comes to a goal that you've set for yourself. That said, your over-enthusiasm might be a little intimidating to some people, but that certainly doesn't stop you (and whatever team you've accumulated) from getting things done.
