Red Dead Online Giving Double XP, Cash To Naturalists & Moonshiners

This week will see a selection of new boosts and rewards for players in Red Dead Online, with bootleggers and moonshiners getting access to double XP and gold from completing missions. The online multiplayer mode for sandbox action-adventure game split off from Red Dead Redemption 2 at the end of 2020 to become its own standalone game. Since launching several months after the release of the sequel, Red Dead Online has failed to recapture the success of GTA Online—although it has remained popular with fans of the Western-themed series.

Red Dead Online has seen a regular stream of updates that add new content to the mode along with fixes and boosts to in-game rewards. The popularity of Red Dead Online is such that fans have pretty much lost any hope of seeing any proper singleplayer DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2. After all, Rockstar will see little benefit in creating time-consuming and costly expansions when the team can instead focus on smaller content updates for the online mode.

Rockstar has revealed the latest boosts and bonuses for Red Dead Online, with double XP and cash rewards for players taking part in certain events. Anyone participating in Moonshine Story and Bootlegger Missions will get double the amount of experience and in-game currency as normal. The same is true for Naturalist Free Roam Events, which also offer twice as much Role XP and gold. Meanwhile, anyone who plays Red Dead Online this week will receive several Potent Health Cures and 3,000 Club XP. There are also a number of discounts to items such as belts and weapons, including several different pistols and a selection of premium horses.

Although Red Dead Redemption 2 is not exactly a new game, it still managed to win Steam's Game of the Year Award for 2020. Despite launching in 2018, the game only released on Steam in December 2019, making it eligible for the prestigious award. The PC version received some criticism due to a somewhat buggy launch but was also critically acclaimed by reviewers thanks to its enhancements over the console edition of the game.

It has become a regular occurrence for players to get access to boosts and rewards in Red Dead Online. Rockstar offers these kinds of bonuses almost every week in order to try and keep fans invested in the in-game world and keep spending time and money on the title.
