The Mandalorian Gets 90s Sitcom Style Intro With Hilarious Character Names

The Mandalorian gets a cheeky 90s-style sitcom intro, complete with hilarious names for all of the main players. In 2019, The Mandalorian launched alongside Disney+ and ushered in a new age for the Star Wars franchise. While originally Disney was focused on movies set within the galaxy far, far away, The Mandalorian's success caused the studio to take things in a new direction. Over the next few years, Disney+ will feature ten different Star Wars shows, several of which are Mandalorian spin-offs. Meanwhile, the series that started it all will be back for season 3.

The Mandalorian centers on titular bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) as he travels the galaxy in the aftermath of the war against the Empire. However, when one of his targets is a powerful child (Grogu, or as the internet likes to call him, Baby Yoda), Din breaks from the Bounty Hunters' Guild and becomes the child's sole protector. The Mandalorian season 2, which wrapped up mere weeks ago, continued Din and Grogu's journey to finding a Jedi who can train Grogu in the ways of the Force. To say it brought many surprises would be an understatement.

The Mandalorian has captured the attention of fans everywhere, leading to a slew of creative fan works like art and videos. The latest comes from Nolan Fabricius, who designed a throwback sitcom opening for The Mandalorian because "I have nothing to do with my time but aggressively pursue every dumb idea that pops into my head." The video introduces the characters from season 1 fans know and love, from Din to Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris). Check it out below.

With starring credits that feel reminiscent of Honest Trailers, The Mandalorian's faux-sitcom opening features some pointed and fitting names. Bill Burr's Mayfeld simply gets called "literally Bill Burr," while Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) earns the descriptor "Prestige Television Antagonist." With the entire series getting the nickname "Grogu Pains" (fitting, as the song used belonged to the sitcom Growing Pains), this is a spin on The Mandalorian fans didn't know they needed.

The Mandalorian's season 2 finale left fans reeling in a major way, and it's unclear as to when season 3 will arrive. Initially, it was said The Mandalorian would return around Christmas of this year, but news of the spin-off The Book of Boba Fett dropping in December has cast that into doubt. Regardless of when, Din will certainly be back for more adventures. Until then, expect more fun fan works to make their way online as people cope with the hiatus. This is the way.
