Hitman 3's First Major Update Adds Several Improvements & New Turtleneck

Developer IO Interactive recently launched Hitman 3's first major update, Patch 3.11, which introduces several improvements and the Tactical Turtleneck as an unlockable suit. The final entry in IO Interactive's World of Assassination Trilogy, Hitman 3 hit stores last month to universal acclaim. It achieved great commercial success, too, recouping development costs during its first week on the market.

Though the latest entry put a bow on Agent 47's story for the time being, the development team is not finished with the shadowy world of Hitman just yet. It seems IO Interactive will provide a drip-feed of post-launch content in a manner somewhat similar to its post-release work on Hitman 2. Brand-new maps and the like are not part of the plan, however; the crew is instead remixing existing maps from the previous two entries, giving players access to something fresh and familiar. Hitman 3's February roadmap constituted the first example of said plans, since this month's updates took 47 back to locales such as Dartmoor and Sapienza for revised adventures.

The February update for Hitman 3, Version 3.11, recently went live across all platforms, most notably adding in the Tactical Turtleneck as an unlockable outfit. According to IO Interactive, players earn it by completing "The Final Test" at the ICA Facility. Upon gaining access to 47's tactical and stylish new attire, users can equip the turtleneck from their inventory at all locations with suit selection options. Naturally, the 2 to 3GB patch also addressed a slew of known issues. Owners of the Deluxe Edition who were previously locked out of their exclusive content should be able to unlock their various goodies once the update's download is complete. As the first major patch, Version 3.11 additionally allowed IOI to better manage Hitman 3's connectivity. And Trophy/Achievement hunters will be pleased to learn the studio resolved whatever issue prevented players from unlocking the "Reach Mastery Level 20" Trophy/Achievement.

The ability to dress Agent 47 in new threads is always an easy sell. Who doesn't want the assassin to look good while hidden in a corner, patiently awaiting the perfect opportunity to dispatch his next target with an elaborate trap? That he can don the outfit in multiple levels represents yet another big win for players.

Of course, the general improvements are something fans will want to take a good look at, as well. With IOI continuing to combat connectivity issues, here's to hoping players are no longer plagued by such setbacks. The Trophy/Achievement fix for "Reach Mastery Level 20" should come as a relief to PlayStation and Xbox players, especially PS4 and PS5 users who were unable to obtain the Platinum.
