Moxie Trailer: Amy Poehler Helps Start a High School Revolution

Moxie has made its way into the public's eye with an abundance of promotional material. The teen comedy-drama film will release on Netflix on March 3, 2021. Directed by Amy Poehler, the cast features Hadley Robinson, Josephine Langford, Lauren Tsai, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Nico Hiraga. Poehler, Ike Barinholtz, and Marcia Gay Harden will also have roles in the movie. The film tells the story of Vivian, a shy high schooler who anonymously publishes an underground zine after witnessing repulsive behavior by her fellow students and sparks popularity with other young women to create a revolution. The film will be written by Tamara Chestna and Dylan Meyer based on Jennifer Mathieu's young adult novel of the same name. Poehler will also produce alongside Kim Lessing and Morgan Sackett.

Now, Netflix has released a trailer of the movie, a promotional poster, and a large number of still images featuring many of the cast members. The film's promotional material can be seen below:

With the consistent rise of the Time's Up and the #MeToo movement, the film has much relevance to the current times. Poehler is known for her comedy performances, like Parks and Recreation, to co-hosting the Golden Globe Awards with her SNL alum Tina Fey. Poehler exploring the wrongdoing in certain behavior through the eyes of a young teenage girl is a unique and fascinating perspective, and finding moments of humor in a serious subject can not be easy. Still, based on the trailer, Moxie is definitely in capable hands, and it won't be long before the movie is available on the streaming service.
