Pokémon Meets Disney: What Team Would Each Princess Have?

Disney Princesses are famous for being great with animals. Most of them have some sort of woodland creature as a partner or companion, while a few others have something more exotic, like a tiger or even an alligator. Sweet and understanding, these girls treat their friends with kindness, respect, and love, often communicating with them through the power of song.

Taking all this into consideration, it's blatantly clear that Princesses would adore being Pokémon trainers. Not only that, but they'd excel at it because they'd understand that the bond between them and their Pokémon is the most important part of being a trainer.

9 Snow White

Disney's first princess is also its youngest, at only fourteen. Snow White is kind, innocent, complacent, and overall demure, attributes that quickly endeared her to 1930s audiences. In her story, she's taken in by seven kind dwarves, who she befriends and grows to care for. They all share slightly similar appearances but have distinctively different personalities.

This makes Snow White the ideal trainer to have an Eevee-centric team. The young girl would have Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Eevee, of course. Surrounded by her Eeveelutions, Snow White would not only be the fairest of them all, but she'd also be a trainer to reckon with.

8 Cinderella

Arguably the most iconic of all the Disney Princesses, Cinderella's story is well-known. She goes from a young mistreated girl to princess of an entire kingdom, all because of her kindness and strength of will.

Cinderella's team would include Pichu and Dedenne, two mice that resemble Jaq and Gus, and a Rockruff to act as her companion. She'd also have a Gourgeist to represent the pumpkin she uses as a coach to get to the ball. In honor of her very particular name, she'd have a Cinderace. Her main Pokémon would be Audino, which in its Mega Evolved form closely resembles her very own Fairy Godmother.

7 Aurora

The sleepiest of all the Disney Princesses, Aurora spends most of her movie out of the action. Put to sleep by Maleficent's curse, she's literally a damsel in distress waiting to be saved. Little is known about her, besides the fact she's beautiful and can sing well.

Aurora's team lacks variety but fits her quite well. It includes three Florges, each a different color in representation of Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. She'd then have three Pokémon famous for their love of sleep: Slaking, Komala, and her ace, a powerful and intimidating Snorlax.

6 Ariel

A spirited and vivacious mermaid, Ariel is curious, reckless, and adventurous. She's not afraid of venturing into the unknown, never quite thinking about the consequences. The first Disney Princess to have a mind and will of her own, she's very much in control of her actions throughout her movie, even if she's just pursuing a man's attention.

Ariel would run a Water-type team. She'd obviously have Primarina and Vaporeon, two Pokémon with mermaid-like qualities. In honor of Flounder and Sebastian, she'd have a Lanturn and a Crawdaunt. Her love for everything human would make her have a Dracovish, and she'd appreciate and admire its uniqueness. Her ace, however, would be Milotic, a creature as powerful as it is beautiful.

5 Belle

The Disney Renaissance's smartest Princess, Belle was a feminist icon for millions of 90s women. Strong-willed, determined, slightly stubborn, and hungry for life, Belle is everything a role model should be.

A distinctively French Princess, almost all of Belle's team would come from Kalos. The one exception would be Chandelure, a Pokémon that'd remind her of Lumiere. Gogoat, Furfrou, Sylveon, and Aegislash are all iconic stars of Kalos and valued companions of hers. Finally, she'd have a Pyroar, to honor Adam's former Beast form.

4 Jasmine

The daughter of Agrabah's sultan, Jasmine is a worthy successor to the throne. Fiercely independent and feisty, she won't go speechless. She's strong and curious, qualities that push her to step outside the comfort of her palace and explore the kingdom that will one day be hers to rule.

Because there's not a literal tiger Pokémon, Jasmine's ace would be a raging and ferocious Incineroar. In place of Abu and Iago, she'd have an Aipom and a Chatot, while Thievul would remind her of her more reckless instincts. Finally, she'd have Tropius and Corsola, two Pokémon exclusive to her home region in Pokémon Go.

3 Mulan

Disney's strongest and most capable Princess by far, Mulan is an actual heroine, the woman who saved all of China, earning the respect and admiration of her entire country. Loyal, brave, and true, Mulan's bond with her Pokémon would be deeper, as she'd have the strength of her ancestors to guide her.

Her team would be headlined by a powerful Mienshao, whose design takes inspiration from Chinese operas. Two mons based on Chinese mythology, Altaria and Drampa, as well as the Jackie Chan-inspired Hitmonchan are also her loyal companions. Lastly, Charmeleon and Kricketune act as representatives for Mushu and Cri-Kee.

2 Tiana

Disney's first, and so far only Black Princess, Tiana is a woman of the new century. Hard-working, ambitious, and strong-willed, she's someone who won't stop until all her dreams come true. She's almost there, after all, and she knows that her time is about to come.

Tiana's team would be comprised of four versatile and powerful amphibians: Seismitoad, Venasaur, Politoed, and her ace, the agile Greninja. Finally, in honor of her two traveling companions, Louis, the crocodile, and Ray, the firefly, she'd have a Krookodile and an Illumise.

1 Rapunzel

Sharp, witty, and lively, Rapunzel is very much an unconventional Princess. She's athletic and quite capable, her hair functioning as a powerful weapon on top of having literal magic powers. Despite being a prisoner in her tower, she never loses hope, and always knows that something's waiting for her on the outside.

Some of Rapunzel's team is made up of Pokémon she would find in the solitude of her tower, like Klefki, a keychain, and Chingling, a bell. Drifloon reminds her of the sky lanterns that fascinate her, while Kecleon acts as a stand-in for Pascal. To complete her team, she has two Pokémon with hair as wild and fierce as hers: Tangrowth and a Mawile that can Mega Evolve.
