Millie Bobby Brown has re-shared a behind-the-scenes video of her fight training for Enola Holmes. The film, developed as a Netflix original, adapted the first novel of Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes Mysteries book series, which centers on Sherlock Holmes younger sister, Enola. The movie had a successful release and positive reception, prompting early work on a sequel.
Since her appearance as Eleven in Stranger Things season 1, Brown has become one of Hollywood’s brightest young stars. She starred as Madison Russell in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and she’ll return to that role in the upcoming MonsterVerse clash, Godzilla vs. Kong. She will also continue to star as Eleven in Stranger Things season 4, which has faced extensive production delays due to the covid-19 pandemic and currently has no official release date. Brown is also currently set to star in a film adaptation of the acclaimed children’s novel, The Thing About Jellyfish, from Reese Witherspoon’s Pacific Standard Films.
Though her career hasn’t been long, she is no stranger to action and stunts, as evidenced by an old behind-the-scenes training video for Enola Holmes that Brown recently shared on her Instagram account. “This video is nearly 2 years old,” her caption reads, “training for my girl, enola.” The success of Enola Holmes only cemented Brown further as one of Netflix’s top stars – a role she seems excited to continue with in the intended sequel. Watch the video below:
No story details about Enola Holmes 2 have been announced, but it will likely adapt the second book in Nancy Springer’s series, The Case of the Left-Handed Lady. Since the first film took inspiration from the first book in the series, The Case of the Missing Marquess, Netflix has the potential for at least five more movies, as there are six novels in total. In a world flush with Sherlock Holmes movies and shows, Brown brought a new, fresh energy to the franchise that viewers responded to strongly.
While waiting for more news on Enola Holmes 2, fans of Brown’s work can hopefully look forward to a Stranger Things season 4 release later in 2021. The teasers have hinted at some major expansions for the world of the show, and Brown’s Eleven will certainly be leading the charge to rescue Jim Hopper from his icy Siberian prison. Brown’s work on projects like Stranger Things and Enola Holmes has resonated powerfully with a wide audience, and it’s exciting to know that her career is only just beginning.
