Everything Sims 4 Expects To Fix Before The Game's Next Update

As with many regularly updated games, glitches and bugs have been present in The Sims 4 since its release in 2014. With each new expansion pack, there are usually a few bumps to be encountered once installation is complete. The Sims 4's developers have decided to make repairing many of these issues a priority, recently sharing a list of community-reported problems they hope to fix in time for the game's next update patch. The issues range from minor glitches to important mechanics that simply fail to work correctly.

Playing The Sims 4 isn't a small investment. It costs hundreds of dollars to own every DLC pack currently available. Because it is so expensive, it can be frustrating to find bugs and glitches in regular gameplay. The collection of community-reported issues has been dubbed the "Laundry List" by developers and will be updated with newly prioritized issues as time goes on.

According to a post on EA's website, there are a number of items being investigated for the first round of The Sims 4 fixes. There isn't an estimated patch release date currently, so it could be a while yet before those who reported these issues will see them fixed. The listed issues don't encompass all of the game's bugs, but they are "top" priority items, meaning many different community members reported the same glitches.

The Sims 4 Laundry List issues currently under investigation for fixes can be found below.

  • The cricket/bug house doesn't allow players to harvest it.
  • Celebrity characters act disgusted with everyone.
  • Sims try to mop up outside when it rains.
  • Auto-solving a Sim's Hygiene Need makes them get a drink.
  • Grounding a teen Sim from using their phone causes all their actions to be called "stealthily."
  • Sims create puddles after drinking water.
  • Pets won't aging up, even when given an age-up treat.
  • Vertical Garden plants can't be evolved.
  • The "Play With Dolls" interaction isn't working.
  • Sims can't resume a knitting project.
  • The "Transform Grass" task in the science lab can't be completed.
  • The "Deep Conversation" action has been renamed.
  • Dust Bunnies and Filth Fiends generate too quickly.

While a few of these issues may not seem like such a problem, having a Sim run outside to mop the rain or leak puddles all over the house when getting a drink can create issues with playability. It is also frustrating to become stuck during The Sims 4 gameplay if tasks can't be completed. These issues and many more will hopefully be patched soon, improving the overall quality of The Sims 4 and encouraging those who stopped playing due to unfixed bugs to potentially pick the game back up again.
