Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo Satoru's Limitless Explained | Screen Rant

Among the many formidable jujutsu sorcerers in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo Satoru emerges as an indisputable master of the Limitless technique. Base on Gege Akutami’s serialized manga, Jujutsu Kaisen focuses on high-school student Yuji Itadori, and his coming-of-age tale involving the covert world of cursed spirits and professional jujutsu sorcerers. Gojo Satoru happens to be a teacher at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College and is dubbed as one the strongest jujutsu sorcerers of all time.

Akin to the Six Eyes, Limitless is an inherited technique passed down within the Gojo family and works best in conjunction with the Six Eyes. Possessing both traits since birth, Gojo is able to master these techniques simultaneously as he is the first sorcerer to be born with these powers in the last hundred years of the manga timeline. Limitless brings the concept of infinity to reality, allowing the user to distort and manipulate space at will, which proves to be an integral arsenal during fights against special grade cursed spirits.

The concept of infinity is best explained by Gojo in the manga, wherein he states that a convergence of infinite series prevents an opponent to hit him directly, as the blow ends up hitting infinity itself. This directly mirrors the Zeno-nian concept of The Achilles Paradox, wherein the Greek hero is theoretically unable to catch a tortoise due to the infinite amounts of finite space separating the two entities. The Limitless also brings the concepts of infinitesimal fractional units to reality, wherein any force that attempts to penetrate infinity slows down to the point of halting in its entirety. This kind of infinity barrier can only be disabled by the user or countered with the aid of Domain Expansion or Domain Amplification, both of which are difficult to master. Apart from this base level Limitless technique, Gojo is also able to weird the Cursed Technique Lapse, or Blue, which can increase cursed energy output and generate the power to attract.

Once a target is directly attacked with the aid of Blue, their body is bound to implode while their limbs would inevitably be crushed due to the technique’s magnet-like effect. However, this can also be used by the user to move at enhanced speeds or generate massive amounts of cursed energy to create a repulsive magnetic force in order to defend themselves. The Blue technique, in particular, is extremely difficult to use, as it requires precise manipulation of cursed energy, which can easily lead to excessive fatigue during a high-stakes fight. Apart from being able to master the first two techniques, Gojo is also able to wield the Cursed Technique Reversal or Red, which allows him to reverse effects and bring divergence of infinity into reality. This technique manifests in the form of a red orb that can unleash immense explosive force in a matter of moments.

Due to the massive amount of energy generation, along with the need to create a positive out of two negatives, the Red technique proves to be tough to execute in practice. However, the powers of the Limitless do not end here for Gojo, as he holds the ability to train extensively and push his powers to their maximum potential with the aid of Six Eyes. Gojo is also known to have used Hollow Purple, a secret ability manifested via the fusion of Red and Blue, namely convergence and divergence. Limitless also allows Gojo to carry out long-distance teleportation and trap targets in the Unlimited Void, which reduces them to a state of catatonia. With Jujutsu Kaisen belting out new episodes soon, it will be enthralling to witness Gojo demonstrate various techniques of the Limitless and the ways in which it could potentially enrich his character within the series.
