Shondaland Characters, Ranked From Least To Most Likely To Win The Hunger Games

Over the years, Shonda Rhimes has created more than enough characters to create a Shondaland universe, thanks to an incredible variety of shows, although some may be lesser known than others. And while a lot of the characters are usually empowered (even headstrong), one wonders if this would be enough to survive the brutality of something like the Hunger Games.

Are Shondaland characters just as tough as the most memorable characters in the film franchise? Are they capable of outwitting everyone else? Do they know how to fight? And more importantly, do they have what it takes to stay alive?

10 Olivia Pope

Olivia (Kerry Washington) holds a lot of might and influence in the Scandal world. She was a fixer, after all. Over the years, Olivia also had to survive a lot. She was kidnapped by Andrew (Jon Tenney). She also learns about the shady world of B613. Even worse, Olivia discovers that her father was running it this whole time.

In many ways, she’s prepared to go through the Hunger Games. After everything that’s happened, it seems not much can faze her. That said, little is known about Olivia’s actual fighting abilities. Hence, she ultimately ranks low on this list.

9 Maya Lewis

Olivia’s mother is as mysterious as she is devious. For a time, Olivia believed that Maya (Khandi Alexander) had died in a plane crash. She eventually realizes that her mother is actually alive. At the same time, Olivia also learns that Maya is a terrorist who intentionally had a plane shot out of the sky.

No one can deny that Maya is capable of committing brutal acts and this may come in handy in the Hunger Games. However, Maya would also be much older around this time and there is a chance that she isn’t as physically capable as she once was.

8 Fitz Grant

Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) had always been one of the most liked characters on Scandal. Of all the other characters on the show, Fitz was the one that came close to having quite a wholesome image. Prior to getting elected President, Fitz was in the military, serving as a pilot in the U.S. Navy.

He fought in the Gulf War and had to survive behind enemy lines when his plane went down during Operation Remington. In many ways, he is prepared to fight in the Hunger Games. However, one must remember that Fitz hasn’t seen action in a long time.

7 Frank Delfino

Coming from the world of How to Get Away with Murder, Frank (Charlie Weber) is used to conducting shady business, especially getting things done for Annalise.

Throughout the show’s run, he’s committed a lot of murders, including one where he kills a pregnant woman and dumps her body in a water tank on the rooftop. He also happens to have the highest body count in the series. Hence, he is very much capable of getting his hands dirty to survive the Hunger Games.

6 Maya Bishop

Maya is one of the relatively newer characters in the Shondaland universe. In Station 19, Maya has shown that she is highly competitive, which makes her perfect for the Hunger Games. She also has a rough personality (especially in the beginning) so she’ll blend right in with the other tributes.

At the same time, Maya is a highly skilled firefighter, so much so that she got promoted to captain. And so, there is reason to believe she’ll do well in the games. That said, it’s unclear how well she can adapt in a kill-or-be-killed environment.

5 Rowan Pope

Also referred to as Papa Pope, Olivia’s father seemed harmless at first, especially when he presented himself as a curator at the Smithsonian. As the show progressed, however, fans came to realize that Rowan has a truly sinister side.

For starters, the curator job was just a cover and in reality, he was the man running B613. During his tenure, Rowan was responsible for several killings, including the murder of Fitz’s son. Coming from this type of background, it’s possible that Rowan has got what it takes to survive the Hunger Games.

4 Owen Hunt

Owen (Kevin McKidd) has continued to take on a more prominent role in Grey’s Anatomy, having become the Head of Trauma surgery at Grey’s Sloan Memorial Hospital. Longtime fans of the show have also become really familiar with all the women that he’s been intimate with over the years.

In contrast, many may not realize that Owen once served in the military, having been a trauma surgeon for the U.S. Army. He also held his own when his platoon was ambushed and everyone else was killed. With his combat experience, he can possibly make it through the Hunger Games.

3 Quinn Perkins

When Quinn (Katie Lowes) started working for Olivia, she was clearly struggling to fit in. After taking on a new identity, it became clear that she had too much to deal with and she was not ready to be one of Olivia’s ‘gladiators.’ Over time, though, Quinn proved that she was more capable than she first let on.

After being trained by Huck (Guillermo Díaz), she discovered her inner gladiator and even took over Olivia’s post later on. Today, she is one of the deadliest women in Scandal, making her a fierce Hunger Games competitor.

2 Huck

In Scandal, Huck is, undoubtedly, Olivia’s secret weapon. He is the man to call when something needs to get done, especially if the job involves getting mixed into some shady business. In fact, Huck was the one that Olivia sent to rescue Quinn when she was about to get arrested for the murder of six people.

At the same time, Huck was also a former member of B613 and orchestrated some killings for the organization. Because of this background, he may do well in the games.

1 Jake Ballard

In the beginning, Jake was the other gorgeous man who also served as Olivia’s love interest. At one point, it even seemed that he and Olivia were a better match since they understood each other, enjoyed each other’s company and got hot and heavy with each other.

But then, Jake slowly (but surely) evolved into this horrific villain, especially when he took over as “command” for B613. Fortunately, Olivia still managed to take him down. That said, Jake’s deadly skillset meant he can easily compete and win in the Hunger Games.
