If just being good at the game wasn't enough, one Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War player has apparently taught himself how to effectively control two characters at once. The coordination of simultaneous attacks allows this single person to become a destructive army of two.
The multiplayer component of Treyarch's massively popular first-person shooter CoD: Black Ops Cold War has been going strong since it launched back in 2020. Though a slew of bugs have plagued the experiences of many across the spectrum of multiplayer, zombies, and the standalone Warzone game modes, Treyarch has continued to update the game regularly and attempted to rebalance play. Season 3 of Black Ops Cold War went live just a few days ago, and it offers players access to new operators, weapons, maps, and gametypes of various sorts. As far as specific rebalancing in the Season 3 update, LMGs took the biggest hit, with nerfs to damage, range, ADS speed, and more.
What Treyarch can't seem to nerf, however, is one man simply controlling two characters all by himself - and that's exactly what user NikolaasOnYoutube did in a video posted on Reddit. Roughly one minute long, the clip is extraordinary to watch. The screen is split in two with the left side displaying the screen controlled by Nikolaas' left hand holding a mouse, and vice versa on the right. Both the left and right sides of the screen also show the player's respective hands from a top-down perspective as they act in unison to coordinate attacks.
Nikolaas separates the video into multiple sections that prove his proficiency with the two-character-one-player strategy in a number of Multiplayer-related combat scenarios. The first section shows the player coordinating with himself to achieve a quadruple kill. In the second section, Nikolaas engages in a gunfight with one of his characters, proceeds to stick his other character with a grenade; he then runs at the enemy with that character, and blows them away. The next section shows Nikolaas leading an enemy toward his second character with gunfire before finishing the job with his second character. Finally, the clip ends with perhaps the most impressive feat: Nikolaas pilots a boat with one character while he snipes enemy players with his other character.
This isn't the first time Nikolaas has displayed this uncommon talent. On his YouTube channel, it appears he also uploaded a video in March of him controlling two characters at once in 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. With bugs and issues still frustrating players across all modes in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it's nice to know that someone is killing everyone not necessarily because he's cheating, but because he's just that good.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
