Captain Marvel arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in her solo movie in 2019. Captain Marvel showed Carol Danvers' origin story, set in the past in the 1990s, and set up her arrival for the big battle with Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. The movie also introduced the mighty Skrulls, who were in a war with the Kree, introduced originally in Guardians of the Galaxy.
The movie also tied in nicely with the rest of the MCU. While Captain Marvel was a new character, there were people from past MCU movies returning, including Nick Fury, Agent Phil Coulson, and two of the villains from Guardians of the Galaxy in Ronan the Accuser and Korath.
10 Least - Ronan (1:30)
Ronan the Accuser was the main villain in Guardians of the Galaxy, the Kree warrior who ignored Thanos's orders and set out to destroy the Nova Corps before the Guardians stood up and stopped his reign of terror.
Since Carol Danvers worked for the Kree in the past, she was on the same side of Ronan, and although he only appeared for one minute, 30 seconds of screentime in Captain Marvel, he showed that he was just as unlikeable then as he was when he attacked the Nova Corps.
9 Least - Soren (2:00)
Soren became an important part of the Skrull's story by the end of Captain Marvel, but her appearance was almost negligible when it came to actual screentime.
She was on screen for only two minutes of the movie's running time. Soren is Talos's wife and spent much of the movie hiding with their daughter while the Skrulls tried to do what they could to avoid annihilation when the Kree warriors showed up on Earth.
8 Least - Bron-Char (2:15)
Carol Danvers worked with her own Kree team, and that all ended when she learned that Yon-Rogg had lied to her and the Kree were, in fact, the villains in this story instead of the Skrulls. At that time, her own teammates became her enemies.
Of these teammates, Bron-Char had the least screentime at two minutes, 15 seconds. He ended up in the battle at Mar-Vell's laboratory, where Carol ended up defeating him before setting off after Yon-Rogg.
7 Least - Att-Lass (2:30)
Att-Lass was another member of the Kree Starforce with Carol Danvers. He was part of the mission to rescue Soh-Larr and the ambush by Talos and the Skrull rebels. He was also one of the Kree warriors sent to Earth to battle after Carol Danvers learned the truth and turned on the Kree.
Unlike other Kree soldiers, Att-Lass didn't seem to want to fight Carol and asked her to stop fighting and give up, but she refused and defeated him.
6 Least - Agent Phil Coulson (2:45)
Agent Phil Coulson only appeared in Captain Marvel for two minutes, 45 seconds in what has to be a shocking total. This was Coulson's first appearance in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie since Loki killed him in The Avengers, although he returned for TV's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Coulson was partners with Nick Fury here, as both were young, and neither had decided to go all-in for S.H.I.E.L.D. at this point. While both Fury and Coulson were big additions, Coulson was only in the movie a few times and only for short scenes.
5 Most - Maria Rambeau (11:00)
Maria Rambeau was Carol Danvers' closest friend on Earth before Carol left Earth and joined the Kree. Maria worked with Mar-Vell at one time, who helped Carol regain her memories when she arrived back on Earth in time for the Kree-Skrull War.
Maria is also notable as the woman who, after this movie, helped found S.W.O.R.D. Her daughter, Monica, grew up to become a S.W.O.R.D. agent and was last seen in WandaVision.
4 Most - Yon-Rogg (11:45)
Yon-Rogg was the villain of Captain Marvel, although he was originally one of the supposed heroes when he worked with Carol Danvers, who he had trained as a Kree soldier. Played by Jude Law, Yon-Rogg manipulated Carol to give the Kree Army an ally in their attack on the Skrulls.
When Carol regained her memories and realized what Yon-Rogg had done to her, the two had their final battle on Earth, with Carol trying to save the Skrull refugees. Yon-Rogg was in the movie for 11 minutes, 45 seconds.
3 Most - Talos (13:45)
Talos was who most viewers believed was the villain in Captain Marvel, until the twist came at the end of the movie.
Talos was the leader of the Skrulls on Earth, impersonating some important figures to get what he needed to help his refugees survive. While Captain Marvel and Nick Fury battled Talos and his allies at the start, they soon learned that they were on the run and only wanted peace from the vindictive Kree Army.
2 Most - Nick Fury (22:30)
Nick Fury returned for Captain Marvel, but this was not the Fury that Marvel Cinematic Universe fans had gotten to know from Iron Man through the Captain America movies. This Nick Fury had not fully bought into the idea of S.H.I.E.L.D. yet, and he still had both eyes at this time.
However, when he met Captain Marvel and realized there was a lot more in space he didn't know about, it set him on his mission to eventually create the Avengers. Fury was in the movie for 22 minutes, 30 seconds.
1 Most - Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (65:00)
The one character that appeared in Captain Marvel more than any other was, in no surprise, Carol Danvers. She appeared in an impressive 65 minutes of her movie's running time, which was more than half the total 123 minutes of Captain Marvel.
As an origin story, it makes sense she would be in the movie as much as she was, but it was more screentime that Black Panther, Ant-Man, Captain America, and Thor received in their first solo movie appearances.
