As one of the oldest and most popular DC superheroes, Batman has a long and rich history both in comics, TV, and films. Even people who don't read comic books are usually able to tell who Batman is and might even know more about some of his most iconic villains. However, just like with many superheroes, there's also so much more information about Batman that doesn't make it onto the film screen.
The DCEU proves this in great detail. By focusing on a large number of characters, it doesn't give Batman the space he has in comics. As a result, some of his best comic book relationships are absent from the movie universe.
10 Booster Gold
If the DCEU ever decides to work with time travel as the MCU did, it would be an ideal opportunity to bring Booster Gold into the roster of its superheroes.
In the comics, Booster Gold and Batman are friends, even though Batman acts grumpy toward Booster Gold and criticizes him (though, he does that with everyone). Considering their different personalities and Booster Gold's humorous, carefree nature, the films could create an intriguing dynamic between the two superheroes.
9 Zatanna
It looks like Zatanna will make it into the DCEU in the end. But what remains unclear is what her story will be or how she'll interact with Batman. In the comics, the two are childhood friends who sometimes clashed but still helped each other whenever the need arose.
Batman doesn't like magic but he respected Zatanna's considerable powers and trusted her. They even had a brief romance but Zatanna called it quits when she realized Batman would always prefer protecting Gotham to their relationship.
8 Robin
The DCEU has already hinted at the fact that Joker had killed Robin. Dick Grayson and Batman have an intriguing dynamic both in the comics and in animated films.
However, if he's out of the picture, the DCEU could still bring in Robin as multiple people were Batman's sidekicks, such as Tim Drake or Bruce's son with Talia al Ghul, Damian Wayne. Seeing grumpy Bruce taking care of his rebellious son could bring a whole new lawyer to the movies.
7 Talia Al Ghul
Talia already appeared in the Batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan but her fate was much different in the movies from the comics. Talia's presence in the DCEU could lead to an interesting conflict between her and Batman which could eventually lead to a romance as well, under the right circumstances.
It would also give the creators the opportunity to introduce the League of Assassins and their leader Ra's al Ghul into the DCEU.
6 Batgirl
The last time Batgirl showed up in a live-action movie, it didn't end so well. Possibly because of the overall lack of quality of the script or the fact they changed her backstory quite a bit and made her Alfred's niece.
The relationship between Batman and Batgirl was much better portrayed in the animated show Harley Quinn but it deserves more attention. Batgirl doesn't always agree with Batman but together, they form a strong team. Not to mention she could lighten up the atmosphere of the DCEU.
5 Batwoman
Another bat-themed superhero who could add more depth to Batman's character is Batwoman. The strong-headed, intelligent superhero knows what she wants and as she discovers her journey as a hero, it's fun to watch.
Gotham is too large a city only for one superhero to watch over, and if Batman and Batwoman guarded it together, it could lead to some interesting exchanges between them.
4 Poison Ivy
Just like Batgirl, Poison Ivy has also appeared in Batman and Robin (1997) - and it didn't work out so well. Poison Ivy's presence could provide the DCEU with more intriguing female villains and follow in the lines of Cheetah or Harley Quinn.
Speaking of Harley, she and Ivy are close, sometimes a couple, and since the Birds of Prey (2020) hinted at the former relationship between Harley and Ivy, it'd be interesting to see the nature-themed villain in the DCEU. Perhaps she and Harley could even rekindle their relationship and team up with Batman - or fight him together, the possibilities are almost endless.
3 The Batman Who Laughs
Of all the characters mentioned, it's not very likely that the Batman who laughs - an evil mixture of Batman and Joker from an alternate storyline - will appear in the DCEU.
However, if the creators decided to include this villain, it would present a unique opportunity how to confront Batman with his ideals and beliefs, simply said, what he stands for as a hero.
2 Red Hood
What twist would it be if it turned out Dick Grayson didn't die at all but instead became the villainous Red Hood. In the comics, this name belongs to Jason Todd, the Robin whom the Joker presumably killed.
Searching for the Red Hood's identity would give Batman the chance to prove that his moniker of a detective is well-earned. And the fight scenes between them could be downright epic since Batman has taught Dick/Jason everything he knows.
1 The Court Of Owls
Besides the League of Assassins, there's another, even potentially more dangerous organization Batman could take on. The Court of Owls is a hidden organization that controls what happens in Gotham, and also had something to do with Bruce's parents' death.
If Batman took on the Court of Owls, he could easily find himself outnumbered which would be an ideal opportunity how to introduce other superheroes, such as the above-mentioned Robin or Batgirl.
