Harry Potter Meets Pretty Little Liars: 5 Friendships That Would Work (& 5 That Would Turn Ugly)

The wizarding world of Harry Potter might contain magic and be full of fantasy but that doesn't mean that the inhabitants of Rosewood on Pretty Little Liars wouldn't find plenty of friends and frenemies among the halls of Hogwarts. The halls of Hogwarts might be full of witches and wizards but Rosewood high has students that are crafty in a different way.

The pasts of these two sets of characters will either unite the characters and create lasting friendships or lead to creating rifts and mortal enemies among them. Magical or not, the characters of both Harry Potter and Pretty Little Liars could find a lot of common ground and they will either work as friends or turn very ugly.

10 Would Work: Harry And Caleb

Harry and Caleb were both raised primarily by people who weren't their parents so they would automatically find common ground on that matter. The two also share the traits of being brave and protective, especially when it comes to the ones they love. The relationship that Harry and Ron have has similarities between the friendship that Caleb and Toby share on Pretty Little Liars so it wouldn't be too surprising to see Harry and Caleb bonding in the same ways.

9 Would Turn Ugly: Draco And Mona

Draco Malfoy likes to be in charge of his little minions Crabbe and Goyle and thrives on the power he finds in the halls of Hogwarts. While Mona herself has felt the intoxicating feeling of power, one thing she always seemed to look down upon was disloyalty.

She targeted the girls partly due to their behavior after Alison's disappearance. She thought they should have stayed more loyal to their friend instead of seemingly moving on with their lives. She would quickly find Malfoy's behavior unacceptable and concoct a plan to make him pay.

8 Would Work: Cedric And Toby

Both of these characters prove to be pretty upstanding men that share a lot of the same morals. Toby really hates liars and Cedric proves to be a pretty honest Hufflepuff during his appearances. He helps Harry during the tournament even though they are competitors, behavior Toby would find pretty admirable. If Cedric were not taken from the world so early, the two surely could have been pretty good pals.

7 Would Turn Ugly: Hermoine And Spencer

These two intellectuals share way too much in common to ever be true friends. They would likely butt heads more than share good times. For a glimpse at what a friendship would be like between the two, one only needs to watch Spencer and Mona together and see how well those two got along.

Despite having the same drive and knowledge, the two constantly are in competition with each other over who is smarter. This would likely transfer over to how main character Spencer interacts with someone like Hermione, a know-it-all who has trouble letting someone else take the reins, especially when it comes to the research.

6 Would Work: Ron And Emily

Emily ends up being a really good friend to a lot of the laid-back guys on pretty little liars, seeming to prefer their attitude to some of the high-drama and gossip of other friends. There are a few contenders over in the wizarding world for Emily to befriend but Ron and her would make pretty good buddies, as they bond over their love of sports and all the years they spent admiring their love from afar.

5 Would Turn Ugly: Bellatrix And Alex Drake

These two powerful women are witches in their own ways. They both thrive on power and the main reason both of them kill is their devotion to other people. Bellatrix is very faithful to her master Lord Voldemort and would do anything for him without flinching. Alex might not have a master but the reason she becomes the new A is because of her devotion to Ceecee and her vendetta to avenge her death.

Although the two have a lot to bond over, both have proved they have no trouble killing and ultimately the two would turn on each other since neither one would be willing to allow the other one to be in charge. Plus if Voldemort told Bellatrix to end Alex she would do so in a heartbeat.

4 Would Work: Luna And Aria

Both of these dreamers are known to be eccentric and bold, something that is proudly displayed in their respective wardrobes. These two would absolutely love to spend hours raiding each other's closets and comparing conspiracy theories. They both know what it's like to be the oddball of the group and would surely see a kindred soul in each other instantly.

3 Would Turn Ugly: Pansy And Hanna

Slytherin member Pansy Parkinson seems like she is the Hogwarts resident mean girl and considering Hanna has had her fill of mean girls, it's hard to imagine her giving Pansy the time of day. Hanna might be the typical popular girl in season 1 after Alison's disappearance but deep down she is really nice and loyal to her friends. Hanna would not be okay with how Pansy calls Neville fat and makes fun of many other students at Hogwarts and would probably compare Pansey to the likes of Ali and her stepsister Kate.

2 Would Work: Draco And Alison

Both of these Slytherins are confident and enjoy being popular and the best and Ali has a lot in common with Pansy since Pansy was really close to Draco it makes sense that these two would be drawn to each other. The strong personalities might clash at first but if they both let down their walls they would find a lot of redeeming qualities in one another. Upon reflection, one might even ship these two, because they really do have a lot in common and would be able to bond over how much they have grown and Ali would be able to help Draco completely shed his dark ways as she did by the end of the show.

1 Would Turn Ugly: Snape And Ezra

These two teachers would probably avoid each other at every school function. The similarities between the two really do stop at their teaching jobs. Ezra is young and optimistic and loves to use his words whereas Snape, a man of few words, is more seasoned and has been hardened by the evil he has seen in his life.

While both of them end up being pretty good at their job, only one of them would win any favorite teacher trophies. Snape is more serious and would disapprove of Ezra's casual teaching style and Ezra would probably report Snape for bullying. But the biggest thing that would keep these two from being friends is that Snape seems like he's a real stickler for the rules and would in no way be able to get past Ezra's relationship with Aria, his student.
