God Of War: The 10 Hardest Artifacts To Find (& How To Access Them)

In order to get rewarded a "Curator" trophy in the most recent installment of God of War, players need to collect every single artifact scattered all across the map. "The road ahead is long and unforgiving" as Kratos says to his son at the beginning of their unexpected journey, and some artifacts can be tricky to spot, while most of them are hardly missable twinkling items.

Aside from a trophy, artifacts can also be quite useful in Brok and Sindri's workshops for armor sets and weapon upgrades, as well as unfolding more of the lore with each one collected. Players get rewarded extra XP with collecting each artifact while they can be also sold for decent amounts of Hacksilver (in-game currency). Some of the artifacts are unavailable without a piece of proper equipment, so it's best to wait out and see what comes along the way, then return and pick up the missing artifacts.

10 Where To Find The Fifth Family Heirloom Artifact

In a hidden Odin's chamber in Helheim, an artifact can be found once the stairs are climbed, behind the fire holder. The chamber is located in the center of the area, more to the end, and one artifact is easy to spot right at the chamber's entrance, but the other one that is tucked away is up the stairs on the left side of the coffin.

When you arrive before the giant locked door, which is a puzzle Kratos need to unfold before entering the gates. By finding the correct runes that are the exact match to the ones on the door (N and F, T and R), players are allowed inside where the hidden artifact is laying right past the Jotnar shrine.

8 Where To Find The Third Bottoms Up Artifact

Up the mountain, right after players coming across and saving Sindri, another hidden artifact can be spotted. Run forward until a broken wooden elevator is spotted and hit fire arrows into a red goo to make an explosion and release the artifact. It is hidden beside a dead body inside a little cave.

7 Where To Find The Ninth Abandon Ship Artifact

At the Cliff of the Raven, starting from where the dead giant is laying, go around the body and climb up the chain on the left side. Proceed forward and within a few steps there will be a dead body lying with a sparkling artifact right by its side. It is quite simple to get to it, but, given everything else that's going on, most are likely to miss it.

6 Where To Find The Isle Of Death Artifact

This one can be hard to notice since it's hidden beneath a pile of rocks that Kratos is supposed to destroy, and that way reveals the artifact.

There is only one artifact that can be found in the Isle of Death, so, from the boat dock, smash the rocks that are blocking the front way and turn left to climb the cliff. Up there, Kratos can have a good view for hitting a trigger behind a pile of rocks which will make an explosion releasing the artifact.

5 Where To Find The Second Bottoms Up Artifact

Shortly after coming across Brok's workshop up in heart of The Mountain, the second Bottom-Up artifact can be spotted. From the shop, go over the bridge and turn left to jump into a hole in the ground where Kratos can lift up the heavy door and proceed to the next area.

On the left side of the area, there is a huge spikey door blocking the way into the cave which Kratos can move using his ax, revealing a shining artifact behind it.

4 Where To Find The Fifth Spoils Of War Artifact

This area won't be open until Kratos defeats a mini-boss and a boss fight, both of which are located in the area above. The artifact is hiding in Alfheim if you go down the elevator and smash the Light Crystal that is hanging from the ceiling. That will trigger all surrounding cell doors to open, and in the one on the right is where the fifth Spoils of War artifact is hiding.

3 Where To Find The Second Horns Of Veithurgard Artifact

Starting from the beach at Stone Falls, go to the right-hand side and complete the puzzle to proceed further into the Veithurgard area. On the left side is an open way to the top of the cliff and, from there, jump down to explore the area above the beach.

Once Kratos jumps down, a beach should be on the left side, and on the right is where the artifact is located. It is kind of hidden behind the planks nailed next to each other, which Kratos should break open, revealing the sparkling artifact.

2 Where To Find The Sixth Spoils Of War Artifact

This artifact is located on the shore of the Lake of Light in Alfheim. From the beach, turn right and make the jump to the area with the shimmering partially transparent red goo blocking the way. Use the Leviathan Axe to quickly cut through all three wraps blocking the doorway and proceed to the next area.

It can be tricky to get to this one, but, if Kratos cuts through the gooey wheel mechanism fast enough, he can turn to the right, and the artifact will be waiting at the end of the cliff.

1 Where To Find The Second Family Heirloom Artifact

Hidden in the pillar of Helheim, the second Family Heirloom artifact can be difficult to notice unless the player controls the viewfinder above and spots that on the top of the pillar is a burning sign. If Kratos hits a sign a couple of times, the artifact will fall to the ground, and he can pick it up.

To get to this artifact, start from the main gate that is locked and jump down to the left. Go over the cave wall and drop down to the left where are the huge noticeable pillars. The one on the right is hiding a sign on top of it where the artifact can be freed.
