Out of the many characters that are connected to Captain America, none are arguably closer to him than Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier. Despite his popular portrayal, it is filled with emotional turmoil.

That being said, his arc regarding his redemption garnered him a fan following - one that is displayed strongly in the various Winter Soldier cosplays that fans wear. As such, here are the various cosplays that portray the Winter Soldier.

10 Assassin In The City Light

RakuSnow's portrayal of the Winter Soldier brings back memories from the second Captain America film and how he is essentially a ghost who only appears whenever he is needed. The slick pose that the cosplayer is portraying here, alongside the unique background, gives it a smooth design to the photography overall.

There are elements that are somewhat different from the MCU interpretation of the character, but it's more due to practicality, such as the mechanical arm, which is fairly form-fitting, allowing it to be more easily utilized for the cosplayer to wear. However, details such as the armor are well-made here and fully accurate.

9 Somber

One of the more emotional incarnations of the character, this Winter Soldier cosplay is unique thanks to the bodysuit, which is form-fitting and is less militaristic compared to the MCU counterpart.

Nonetheless, the portrayal here is arguably the best aspect of the cosplay and it shows the emotional range that the Winter Soldier has had over his entire career.

8 The Shield In Snow

This Winter Soldier cosplay is portrayed by carmacosplay. Her design is fairly reminiscent of the MCU incarnation, although it does have some extra elements, which are a little different, including the mask being slightly different or the elbow pad on the metal arm. B

ut what makes the cosplay special is the symbolism between the character and the shield - how the shield is colorful despite the muted colors that are associated with the Winter Soldier, in general.

7 Borrowing An Arm

Inspired by his time during Infinity War and Endgame, the cosplay is worn by Paul Holding, who portrays a distinctive moment in the Infinity War movie.

The lighting of the photo is solid and the overall production value of the costume is fully realized. The toy version of Rocket that he is holding with his metal arm is a nice touch, making it faithful to the films, as a whole.

6 The Dynamic Duo

A fun gender-bent version of the characters, this Winter Soldier cosplay by Heaven Cat is well-made. Some of the details aren't exactly like the comics or film, as the detailing on the metal arm is slightly different, but it is still well-made nonetheless.

The rest of the elements, including Captain America, make this a strong cosplay, with the slightly muted photography being faithful to the overall Captain America trilogy.

5 A Unique Approach

This is arguably the most distinctively unique version of the Winter Soldier, as her outfit is very different from the source material and less about military practicality and more about the general color scheme.

Nonetheless, the colors are balanced nicely, with the different aspects, such as her metal arm, still present. This take offers a unique and bold approach to the character while still appearing fairly recognizable and faithful overall.

4 Fighting For The Shield

The photo, taken by SkyLens Studio, is arguably one of the more atmospheric portrayals of the character. The cosplay is worn by Supernaut Cosplay and is done very well. The metal arm is covered in the torn fabric, while the outfit is layered similarly to his MCU counterpart.

The black eye makeup that the Winter Soldier occasionally has is on full display here, bringing out a threatening interpretation of the character that contrasts with the colorful shield.

3 A WWII Sergeant

Far before his time as the Winter Soldier, before he lost an arm and became an assassin for Hydra, Bucky Barnes was a soldier during World War 2.

The gender-bent portrayal by JusZCosplay represents a nostalgic period that was present in the propaganda posters, where it was optimistic despite the tough times.

2 Espionage

One of the most well-made portrayals of the Winter Soldier, Dungeon Master Wes portrays the character like a spy, as he peeks through the sunlit windows while waiting for his potential prey. Or perhaps he's sneaking out and away from any unfriendly eyes, whether it is his fellow superhumans or possibly enemies of the front line.

Great photography aside, the production value here, from the carbine rifle to his metal arm, is done fairly well, with a nice gloss on both his combat vest and jacket to the sheen on his arm. The simple lighting that is shown in the photograph is clean and efficient, allowing for a solid frame that makes it easy on the eyes.

1 Going Till The End

The cosplay, worn by Kat Fox, is one of the cleanest and most straightforward interpretations of the character. The metal arm on the left isn't form-fitting but rather built, giving it a more bulky appearance.

The leather of the vest seems to be well-made of a nice fabric. Overall, this is a solid interpretation of the Winter Soldier character.
