Zack Snyder Reacts To Zombie Scenes From Last Of Us & Left 4 Dead

Famed director of Justice League and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Zack Snyder recently reacted to a bunch of zombie video games like Left 4 Dead and The Last of Us to promote his upcoming Netflix film and return to the zombie genre, Army of the Dead. Zack Snyder is a bit of a zombie expert, given his origins as a commercial movie director trace back to a remake of Dawn of the Dead. The original film's director, George Romero, is largely credited as having created the modern version of zombies.

Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead is a return to form for the director, allowing him to go back to his roots after a troubling experience in the superhero genre that resulted in three movies with mixed results and sequels being canceled. Of course, although Zack Snyder likely took many cues from Romero while also making his own path in making zombie movies. It only seems fitting for a director like himself to take a look at where video games have taken the iconic horror monsters.

In a video with IGN, Zack Snyder reacted to zombie games such as Left 4 DeadThe Last of Us, and more. Zack Snyder paid special consideration to Resident Evil for its achievements in the genre despite the fact Resident Evil Village shied away from zombies. The video also sees him react to a Call of Duty: Black Ops zombies level where George Romero is captured by zombies and made an antagonist to the player.

Zack Snyder was also attached to make three games with EA after making 300, but they never came to fruition. No details ever really surfaced regarding the games, but the idea was to make something that he could also spin off into films with his production company. That said, it sounds like he has a history with gaming both in making them and playing them, but it's not clear if he's much of a gamer now that he's much busier.

Left 4 Dead has gone dormant as a franchise but will continue in spirit via Back 4 Blood which is being developed by some of the original team. It's not too far off from the same kinds of zombie types seen in Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead, so it's no surprise he looks a bit enamored by all the carnage. Whether or not Zack Snyder ever decides to venture into the gaming space in a professional capacity again remains to be seen, but it looks like he appreciates all the great zombie stuff people are playing.
