Final Fantasy 9: Which Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign

Among the classics of RPG gaming, few franchises boast a collection of characters as recognizable as the Final Fantasy series. Among the three installments that hit the PlayStation One, Final Fantasy IX included a group of unique characters and a return to a more job-based battle system. From an agile, cocky thief to a loyal, bumbling knight, this cast had more character development than previous installments and also boasted an interesting storyline that was set in a vast fantasy world.

On top of all this, Final Fantasy IX featured a return to multi-player capabilities that were originally introduced in Final Fantasy IV but were absent from previous PSOne installments. Sure, these moments only came during the turn-based battles, but it was an exciting feature nonetheless. The question is, where would these memorable characters fall on the Zodiac charts?

12 Sagittarius: Moogles

Friendly, continuous self-improvement, and opinions formed by emotion, moogles share many characteristics with Sagittarius. Even from the earliest Final Fantasy games, these creatures are always on the lookout for ways to help those who cross their paths.

In the ninth installment, the moogle Stiltzkin helps the party through their adventure by turning up throughout the game to sell them items as a way to fund his journey.

11 Gemini: Zorn & Thorn

Charismatic, argumentative, and humorous, these twins of mischief serve as court jesters to Queen Brahne and fit perfectly with the Gemini sign.

The two are a constant annoyance for the party of heroes and will do anything to gain the favor of the Queen. It's suggested the two were once a single, mysterious being but were split in two by Kuja to better serve Brahne.

10 Leo: Queen Brahne

With a big personality, a life of luxury, and a desire to stand out as ruler of not only her own kingdom but of those who oppose her as well, Queen Brahne shares many qualities with those born under the sign of Leo.

Though she was once a kind and well-liked ruler, manipulation from the evil and mysterious Kuja turned the queen into a power-hungry diva. A change that eventually drives her adopted daughter away.

9 Scorpio: Kuja

Cunning, intense, and quick to betray, Kuja is the epitome of a Scorpio. With a lust for power and a gift for manipulation, Kuja convinces Queen Brahne to create an army of black mages and invade the kingdoms of the Mist continent.

The villain is a narcissist with a lust for power and takes every opportunity to boast about his plans through self-aggrandizing monologues.

8 Cancer: Eiko

Sensitive, quick to take on other people's problems, and known to hold a grudge, the six-year-old summoner Eiko Carol is in line with Cancers.

An orphan who was raised by moogles after the last of her family passed away, Eiko is a white magic user with holy-based abilities, Eiko joins the party and makes a powerful ally in a supporting role. She's one of two surviving members of a town of summoners that was known as Madain Sari.

7 Aquarius: Freya

A self-perceived outcast, loner, and unique individual, the traits of Aquarius are perfectly portrayed by Freya Crescent, the spear-wielding Burmecian.

A member of a race of humanoid rats, Freya joins the party while searching for the man she loved who disappeared several years before. With a wide array of skills, Freya uses her spear to inflict massive damage on enemies and possesses healing skills as well.

6 Aries: Amarant

Quick-tempered, arrogant, and competitive, Amarant Coral is always ready for a fight and shares many personality traits with Aries. A master of hand-to-hand combat, Amarant is the strong, silent type.

His mane of red hair earned him the nickname "Red" and his grudge against Zidane isn't immediately clear when he joins the party. With various knuckled weapons, Amarant uses his fists to settle disputes.

5 Taurus: Quina

Resistant to change, reclusive, and holding opinions based on absolutes, Taurus is the sign most closely connected to Quina Quen.

A member of a race only known as the Qu, Quina's master encourages them to leave home so that they can learn that there's more to life than food. Of course, Quina is more interested in trying other foods from around the world.

4 Capricorn: Steiner

Responsible, motivated by duty, and fostering a general disdain for most people, Capricorn goes hand in hand with the Captain of the Pluto Knights, Adelbert Steiner. Sworn to protect Princess Garnet, Steiner has no choice but to follow her as she joins Zidane and the others on an adventure.

Steiner is easily angered, loyal to a fault, and inadvertently adds comic relief to the group through frequent tantrums. A clanking suit of armor and a perpetual frown add to this character's charm.

3 Libra: Vivi

Often indecisive, always avoidant to conflict, and a dislike of being alone, Vivi Orunitia is a black mage that displays many traits of Libra. With a kind heart and compassion for other beings, Vivi has the innocence and sense of wonder of a child, even though he's capable of casting powerful and destructive black magic spells.

Besides the princess, Vivi is the one character Steiner shows respect for, referring to the black mage as "Master Vivi" throughout the game. Vivi is one of the most beloved characters in the franchise and in all of gaming.

2 Virgo: Garnet

Strong-willed, clever, and full of ideas, Virgo is a perfect description for Princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII, also known as Dagger. The adopted daughter of Queen Brahne, Garnet is the only heir to the throne of Alexandria.

She was originally born in Madain Sari, or the "Village of Summoners" before it was destroyed by Garland. As a young orphan, she was the mirror image of the child the king and queen had lost, except for the horn that protruded from her head. The king ordered the horn removed and passed Garnet as their daughter to the public.

1 Pisces: Zidane

Carefree, prone to daydreaming, and a hopeless romantic, Zidane fits the bill when it comes to Pisces. A boy who embraces life on the streets and has no problem stealing anything he needs, often through the use of his monkey-like tail.

Involved in a plot to kidnap Princess Garnet, the two meet when the princess introduces herself as Dagger and enlists Zidane to help her run away. Instantly attracted to the beautiful princess, Zidane flirts with Garnet while their adventure unfolds.
