While there is no apparent villain in Gossip Girl, there are still some characters that definitely go out of their way to cause a bit of trouble, including some of the main characters. With a lifestyle such as the teens on this show have, there are bound to be some bad apples within the groups. From Blair and her schemes for power to Georgina and her manipulative plans to ruin people's lives and beyond, various characters could be labeled villains.

While some characters' actions are forgiven, some others enter the show as villains and leave the same.

10 Poppy Lifton

Poppy was a scam artist who presented herself as wealthier and more successful than she was. Poppy formed a fake friendship with Serena and constantly made Serena feel that she wasn't good enough for her.

Poppy was only using Serena to get some of the Van Der Woodsen money and was nothing but a thief from beginning to end.

9 Blair Waldorf

While Blair is one of the main characters and a mostly likable one, she always has her own best interest in mind, even if it means putting others down.

When Chuck fancies a new girl in town, Blair is not happy about it and spreads lies to break them up. Her plan works, and the two end up calling their relationship quits. Fans thought, if it weren't for Blair, the relationship would have lasted longer.

8 Jenny Humphrey

Jenny was a likable character in the beginning, but people change. Jenny ended up with the wrong crowd, and she made bad decisions out of it. She got caught up in herself while not listening to her father, completely disrespecting him and pushing him away.

Not to mention, while Nate and Serena were together, Jenny tried to pursue Nate anyway, making fans upset and uncomfortable. She also goes against Serena with Juliet and Vanessa, and things end up going too far. Jenny ended up being a fairly villainous character.

7 Diana Payne

Diana Payne was known for getting close to Nate, but she was only hungry for power and manipulated him with affection and control.

Not only that, but she lied to Chuck about who his birth mother was and caused a lot of uproar and confusion. It turns out she was paid to tell Chuck false information, but there is no excuse to lie like that.

6 Ivy Dickens

Carol Rhodes hired Ivy to pretend to be her daughter to access a trust fund. Right away, her character was full of lies. She makes herself comfortable in the Van Der Woodsen home, manipulating many people and even schemes to make Dan hers.

Ivy's intentions were never pure, and her actions messed with a lot of characters.

5 Dan Humphrey

it is no surprise Dan is a low-key villain, especially since he is the author of Gossip Girl, which ruined many people's reputations and relationships.

He wrote rumors that messed with his friends and revealed truths that were secrets that needed to be kept. While he had done some questionable things in the past, the reveal of him being Gossip Girl turned him into a completely bad guy.

4 Juliet Sharp

Juliet went too far with messing with Serena. It's one thing to treat Serena poorly, but Juliet went too far, almost killing her. Juliet wanted revenge for her brother, who was in prison because he was blamed for a crime he never committed, and Serena was involved.

Serena even helped get her brother out of prison, but Juliet still targeted her.

3 Russel Thorpe

Russel is the main antagonist in season 4. He goes after the Bass company and tries to bring it down, but his daughter ends up having a good relationship with Chuck. Chuck tries to reason with Russel, but it doesn't work.

Russel tells Chuck that his father was the one who set the fire that killed Avery, his wife. Chuck feels horrible about the entire situation. However, they find out that Russel is the one who locked his wife in the fire and killed her. Chuck says that he will let Russel go if he never returns. He agrees but ends up kidnapping Blair and trying to leave her for dead in a fire. But once again, he's caught.

2 Georgina Sparks

Georgina caused a lot of problems when she arrived on the scene. An old friend of Serena, she returns and really messes with her life.

She also outs Eric at the dinner table without consent, a terrible thing to do. She takes on the name Sarah around Dan, and she completely lies to him about her past and her identity. She later tells him that she is pregnant with his child, and Dan is shocked but grows a strong connection with the baby, Milo. However, she later reveals that the child is not his. Georgina was nothing but trouble on the show.

1 Bart Bass

In season 3, Bart is presumed dead after a car crash. However, he is later revealed to be alive.

As Chuck seeks answers, his father completely cuts off ties with Chuck and his part in their company. After numerous fights for power between father and son, Bart tries to get rid of his son for good. Eventually, Bart dies, but not before having done numerous despicable things.
