RDR2 Player Discovers Hidden Money Box That Refills Daily

While playing Red Dead Redemption 2's story campaign, one player found a glitched money box in the graveyard near the Shady Belle hideout. Over two and a half years after its release, it would seem that fans have explored every nook and cranny in Red Dead Redemption 2's main story.

Players have, thus, taken to making fun of their own, uncovering new ways to approach certain tasks and objectives. For example, one fan recently discovered a more brutal method of guaranteeing Micah's escape from the jail in Strawberry. Meanwhile, others continue to expand upon the existing content by developing PC mods. One such enhancement added canine companions to the experience; another user managed to recreate 16 of the 24 outfits that John Marston dons in the original Red Dead Redemption. But creative loopholes and mods aren't the only ways in which to push the prequel to its limits. Every so often, a Red Dead 2 glitch proves equally beneficial.

On the Red Dead Redemption 2 subreddit, a user named purplebanana shared details about their discovery of a hidden lockbox in Shady Belle. The money box in question, which holds jewelry and money, is reportedly located "near the graveyard by the swamp." Because of an apparent glitch of some kind, the box refills every day. A few other fans in the Reddit thread claimed they, too, have encountered this particular money glitch, noting that it can be found at any point during Red Dead 2's main campaign and epilogue chapter.

It's not clear how much money the lockbox is replenished with each day, but some players may find the location, pictured above, well worth exploring. In addition to equipping protagonist Arthur Morgan with all manner of outfits and weapons, Red Dead Redemption 2's in-game currency is also used for purchasing horses and several must-have goods.

Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive released the open-world title in Fall 2018, ending the award-winning franchise's lengthy eight-year drought. And Red Dead Redemption faithful may endure yet another long wait for a hopeful third entry, considering that new reports suggest Rockstar won't release GTA VI until 2025. With that in mind, who can say for sure when the next Red Dead entry will be ready for primetime?
