RHOC: Times That Kelly Dodd Angered Fans & Castmates

Kelly Dodd is one of the most controversial figures to come out of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and we are looking back at all of the times when Kelly angered her co-stars and fans the most. Recently, Bravo confirmed Kelly was fired from RHOC, and many fans and fellow Housewives stars believe that Kelly's exit was long overdue. From insensitive COVID-19 comments to hitting multiple co-stars on the head, here are Kelly's worst moments with fans and Real Housewives of Orange County cast members.

Kelly Dodd was a regular on The Real Housewives of Orange County since season 11. Bravo's decision to exclude Kelly from the upcoming 16th season of the hit reality series is the result of Kelly's inappropriate behavior for the past handful of years. On and off of RHOC, Kelly has irritated fans of the series and her fellow cast members with her problematic conduct. Here are the reasons why Orange County fans and cast members are happy to see Kelly leave the Bravo series.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kelly Dodd got into hot water for certain comments she's made. During the beginning of the pandemic's devastating spread in 2020, fans trashed Kelly for her views on COVID. On top of not adhering to certain guidelines put in place to prevent the pandemic's growth, Kelly stated that she believed that COVID-19 was "God's way of thinning the herd." Kelly later apologized but continued to not take the health crisis seriously. As a result, she even lost sponsors from her crude attitude regarding COVID-19. Kelly shared a video of her out with her friends, maskless, toasting to "Superspreaders" and exclaiming, "Spread that sh**!" Even after getting fired from brands for her senseless takes, Kelly has only doubled down on her foolish pandemic comments.

On top of being emotionally harmful, Kelly Dodd has also been physically abusive to some of her co-stars while filming The Real Housewives of Orange County. On two occasions, Kelly inexplicably hit her co-stars on the head. While on a group trip to Miraval Arizona Resort and Spa, Kelly hit Shannon Beador on the head with a mallet. Kelly's brutal strike resulted in Shannon ending up in the emergency room. Kelly also hit co-star Gina Kirschenheiter over the head on the same Arizona trip. Then, during a very tense conversation with Gina, Kelly reenacted her aggressive moment with Shannon and hit Gina on the head. While it might not have been meant maliciously, Gina was angered by Kelly's actions.

One of Kelly's biggest flaws is her inclination to overstepping boundaries. Whether in the middle of a heated argument or not, Kelly's insults are known to hit her fellow RHOC co-stars below the belt. Lots of Kelly's infamous moments are the result of her uncalled-for comments. One of Kelly's notorious outbursts came at Shannon Beador's 70s party. At the event, Kelly drunkenly called Shannon ugly and compared her Mrs. Roper from Three's Company. Kelly went on to criticize Shannon's ex-husband David for his cheating scandal. Additionally, Kelly feuded with her co-star Vicki Gunvalson. Kelly angered Vicki when she alleged that Vicki bought her 5.28-carat engagement ring for herself. As long as Kelly Dodd was on The Real Housewives of Orange County, there was no shortage of animosity toward the fired star.
