Where To Find Trolls Online (Netflix, Hulu Or Prime?)

Here's where to watch 2016's hit animated adventure Trolls, and whether the film can be found on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu or Prime. Dreamworks Animation has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to producing hit animated movies - even if they don't always receive the warmest of reviews. One of their first major hits was the original Shrek from 2000, which produced a long-running franchise. Other big hits include the How To Train Your Dragon movies, Madagascar and the Kung Fu Panda franchise.

Joining that list in 2016 was the Trolls movie, which was based on the famous toy line of the same name. The movie has a starry cast, consisting of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel and John Cleese, and follows Kendricks' Poppy as she sets out on a dangerous rescue mission. Trolls received decent reviews for its voice cast, its energy and its soundtrack, including the original song "Can't Stop The Feeling!," which was co-written and performed by Timberlake also.

The Trolls soundtrack played a big part in the movie's success, which featured vocals from other cast members like Anna Kendrick, Gwen Stefani and Zooey Deschanel in addition to singers such as Ariana Grande. Those wondering if Trolls is on Hulu, Netflix or Prime will be disappointed, however, as it's not currently available on that trio of platforms.

Thankfully, there are plenty of other options available to stream Trolls online. According to JustWatch, the movie can be streamed on fubo or DirecTV, or it can be rented or purchased from prices beginning at $3.99 from Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, YouTube, Google Play and many more. Trolls grossed nearly $400 million worldwide and spawned a franchise in the aftermath. There have been several short films, including Trolls Holiday and Trolla-Palooza Tour.

The franchise has also received a couple of TV spinoffs with Trolls: The Beat Goes On! and Trolls: TrollsTopia, with season 3 of the latter arriving in 2021. A movie sequel dubbed Trolls World Tour landed in April 2020, though its release was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The sequel added names like Ozzy Osbourne as King Thrash, Mary J.Blige, Jamie Dornan and Sam Rockwell. The movie's box-office tally ended up being impacted by the pandemic, so it's currently unknown if another Trolls movie is in development. Justin Timberlake at the very least has said he hopes for many more sequels in the franchise, though another film doesn't currently appear to be in development at Dreamworks.
