Yu-Gi-Oh!: Yugi's Best Battle City Cards | ScreenRant

One of the most iconic anime arcs of all time is Battle City from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series. The arc sees the gang spread across an entire city taking on enemies both old and new, and saving the world, because that's always part of the deal with this group.

Throughout this arc, fans get to see many different duels involving Yugi, and they're all a ton of fun to watch go down. Fans also get to see Yugi utilize some pretty cool cards in this arc.

10 Ragnarok

Ragnarok was the wildly specific card that Yugi used in order to take down Marik in the finals, and it worked. Why he had it in his deck is anyone's guess, however.

The card requires two Dark Magician cards on the field to be activated and removes from play every single monster the player has, period. Then, the opponent's side of the field (monsters only) is destroyed. He won that duel in style.

9 Pot Of Greed

Ignoring all of the jokes, Pot of Greed allows the user to draw two cards, and that's it. This gives them a +1 in card advantage with no downsides, which is huge in the game of Yu-Gi-Oh!

As basically every single duelist in the anime had this card in their deck, it sort of just evened the playing field. Nevertheless, it's still a great one that Yugi utilizes in just about every version of his deck, Battle City included.

8 Dark Magician

Dark Magician was another card that Yugi never built a deck without, but it was still a highlight of the Battle City arc of this show. Yugi builds a good portion of his deck around this card, so it was filled with support cards that unlock the Dark Magician's full potential.

Dark Magician was also a star in Yugi's iconic duel with Arkana, where the two duked it out to determine who was the true master of the creature.

7 Obelisk The Tormentor

Obelisk the Tormentor was used by Yugi plenty of times after he won it from Kaiba in another massively iconic duel. He used it against Marik in the finals, though it didn't get much screen time after that duel under control of Yugi.

For most of the season, it was Kaiba's card, where it still had quite a shine. Still, this isn't the only Egyptian God card on the list.

6 Dark Magician Girl

Dark Magician Girl first appeared in Yugi's deck during the Battle City arc, where it then became a mainstay for the duelist.

Dark Magician Girl featured in the Arkana duel, where she was able to take out the Rare Hunter's second Dark Magician due to her ability boosting her up to 2600 attack points. The monster's unveiling was a fantastic moment in the series that most fans will never forget.

5 Slifer The Sky Dragon

Slifer the Sky Dragon was won by Yugi earlier on in the season than Obelisk the Tormentor, so he had a lot more opportunity to actually use the card. He certainly took advantage of it several times.

Its most notable duel is the Battle City Finals faceoff with Kaiba, during which it trades attacks with Obelisk the Tormentor over and over, the two constantly taking each other out and reviving until Slifer the Sky Dragon eventually took the crown along with Yugi.

4 Brain Control

Brain Control is a powerful card that allows the user to take over one of their opponent's monsters for the turn, which can be useful for a variety of reasons.

Whether it's to tribute, attack with, or simply weaken the opponent's strategy with, this was a smart one for Yugi to pack into his deck.

3 Graceful Charity

Graceful Charity is yet another draw card in addition to the aforementioned Pot of Greed. The card allows the user to draw three cards as long as they discard two, which is an incredibly powerful effect.

Though this wasn't seen being used as often as Pot of Greed was, Graceful Charity was still included in Yugi's deck, which is why it takes a spot on this list.

2 Diffusion-Wave Motion

Diffusion-Wave Motion is a useful card that Yugi would use to allow one of his more powerful monsters, like Dark Magician, to attack each of his opponent's monsters in a single turn, allowing him to completely wipe the field under the right circumstances.

This card also stuck around throughout the series, being used against Leon in the KC Grand Championship for an epic win with only a single card left in his deck.

1 Dark Paladin

While Dark Paladin didn't get nearly as much screen time as it should have, it still showed up to body Yugi's opponents here and there. The card, which is a fusion monster of Dark Magician and Buster Blader, gained attack points for dragons on the field and in the graveyard and could negate spell cards by discarding a card.

Dark Paladin always brought with it pure power, and it really should have been summoned more often.
