10 Action Stars Who Haven't Appeared in the Fast Saga (But Would Be Perfect)

The cast of The Fast Saga contains some of the most beloved action movie stars on the planet, (from Vin Diesel to Dwayne Johnson) and each new installment introduces a bunch of new actors into the line-up. A handful of action movie legends have joined the franchise late in the game, including Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, Kurt Russell.

But there are still a ton of action stars who would be perfect for the unabashedly over-the-top tone of the Fast & Furious franchise and still have yet to appear alongside Toretto and his crew. Before the series wraps up with its 11th installment, these actors need to show up.

10 Jean-Claude Van Damme

From Bloodsport to Kickboxer to Hard Target, Jean-Claude Van Damme’s action movies have always been as shamelessly unrealistic and wildly entertaining as The Fast Saga. Van Damme could play a megalomaniacal villain like he did in The Expendables 2, or simply a master martial artist who joins Toretto’s crew on their next adventure.

9 Jet Li

Jet Li was originally cast opposite Vin Diesel as the villain in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, but he dropped out and was replaced by Donnie Yen, so fans have yet to see him fight Diesel on the big screen.

Li has also made a bunch of movies with Jason Statham, like The One, War, and The Expendables films. It would be great to pair Li up with Deckard Shaw in a Fast & Furious movie just to see if the chemistry between the two still remains after all these years.

8 Sylvester Stallone

Much like Fast Saga star Vin Diesel, Sylvester Stallone is a master of action movies. He was one of the musclebound supermen who ruled ‘80s action cinema with blockbusters like Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rocky IV.

However, movies like First Blood, Cop Land, and the original Rocky have explored the actor’s underappreciated depth. If Stallone plays another mercenary hired by Mr. Nobody in a Fast & Furious movie, then it could lead to a Tango & Cash reunion with Kurt Russell.

7 Liam Neeson

Ever since he pioneered the “geriaction” subgenre with his relentless quest to save his kidnapped daughter in Taken, Liam Neeson has completely reinvented himself as an action hero. Where he was once a revered dramatic actor known for playing Oskar Schindler, he’s now a B-movie icon known for playing ex-CIA agent Bryan Mills.

Neeson’s hardened badass screen persona would be perfect for the Fast & Furious universe. He could even play the as-yet-unseen Shaw patriarch. Given that Neeson has worked with Mirren several times in the past as well as their own personal history, it would be great to see these lifelong friends reunite.

6 Sigourney Weaver

Sigourney Weaver blazed the trail for female action heroes when she played Ellen Ripley, the everywoman-turned-badass who vanquishes the xenomorph that killed the rest of her crew in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror masterpiece Alien.

Weaver could join the Fast franchise as a Ripley-esque badass alongside such awesome female characters as Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty and Helen Mirren’s Magdalene Shaw. After her brief stint in Netflix's The Defenders, where she played the villainous Alexandra Reid, Weaver could also be another antagonist.

5 Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves has quickly become arguably the most revered action movie star in the world. The subdued neo-noir style of John Wick actually offers a counterpoint to the high-octane carnage of the Fast & Furious franchise, but the over-the-top stylings of Reeves’ action-packed gem Point Break would be perfect for The Fast Saga.

Reeves almost joined the Fast franchise with a voice cameo as “The Director” in Hobbs & Shaw, but it ended up falling through, so he could play anyone in this universe.

4 Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan is tailor-made for The Fast Saga. His action movies have always had a great sense of humor and a refreshing self-awareness, much like the Fast & Furious franchise.

He’s directed himself in such gems as Police Story and Drunken Master II and always does his own stunts, so he could bring some pretty impressive physicality to the table.

3 Danny Trejo

Technically, Danny Trejo is already in the Fast & Furious universe, because he voiced the Tuco character in the animated series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, but he would be perfect for the live-action movies, too.

The mercenary that Trejo has played in the delightfully absurd Machete movies would be a great addition to the Fast universe up against Dom Toretto and Deckard Shaw.

2 Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger is action-movie royalty. From Commando to Total Recall to Terminator 2, his movies are defined by explosive set pieces, goofy one-liners, and a brazen attitude toward the laws of physics, all of which are characteristics of The Fast Saga.

Based on his hyper camp performance as Mr. Freeze in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, Arnie would make an unforgettable villain in the Fast & Furious universe. Fans could certainly imagine him, Dwayne Johnson, and Vin Diesel all involved in some epic showdown.

1 Nicolas Cage

Over the years, Nicolas Cage has starred in all kinds of movies. He offered a hot-tempered counterpoint to Cher in Moonstruck, channeled Woody Woodpecker in the Coen brothers’ masterful slapstick comedy Raising Arizona, and won a much-deserved Oscar for his dramatic turn in Leaving Las Vegas.

But in the mid-‘90s, he went through a spell of making ludicrous high-concept action movies like Con Air, The Rock, and Face/Off. The Cage seen in those movies would be right at home in the Fast & Furious universe.
