Actor Dwayne Johnson was temporarily barricaded in his home due to a snake-eating hawk. "The Rock" faced an unforeseen adversary early this week, an uncommon foe that left him with a difficult decision to make. The only way to break free of his house arrest would be to traverse through his winged opponent's newly claimed territory.
Johnson first entered mainstream entertainment when he took to the wrestling ring as The Rock, a somewhat arrogant but fierce competitor, for the World Wrestling Federation in the mid-1990s. The character quickly gained national attention and became a fan favorite. After some time in the ring, Johnson found his way into Hollywood as the Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns. Decades of onscreen appearances followed his short role in the film, including voicing animated movies like Moana.
He is no stranger to taking down giants in his career, but this week Johnson was pitted against something that struck genuine fear into the superstar. A large red-tailed hawk stood between Johnson and his workout routine. To make matters even more terrifying, the hawk stood perched eating a copperhead snake that it had claimed as lunch. Johnson recorded a short dialogue while documenting his predicament on Instagram. Taking the situation in stride, he posted the commentary below to accompany his video.
It appears that the bird was just as intense and determined as the homebound actor. As seen in the video, the hawk perked up and issued threats against Johnson when he neared the door. The Walking Dead actor, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, even deemed the animal "The Rock of hawks." Johnson had to decide whether to forego his workout or to venture past the angry bird. His stubborn response proved he wasn't going to be deterred from hitting the gym, even if that meant braving a hangry predator. While he did not post any further updates about his perilous journey, Johnson did manage to post a short promotion for an upcoming television appearance on another social media account. Audiences can rest easy knowing that Johnson survived the ordeal.
Hopefully, The Rock's victory is a foreshadowing of good things to come. He has signed on to several anticipated projects set to debut soon. Johnson will appear as the riverboat captain, Frank, in Disney's Jungle Cruise. The movie, based on the popular amusement park ride, should be released later this month. Dwayne Johnson has also been preparing to dive into the DC universe next year with his Black Adam and DC League of Super-Pets roles. It has been reported that Dwayne Johnson is even considering running for president! However, regardless of what the critics say, they cannot be near as nerve-wracking as going toe to toe with a taloned, venomous snake killer.
