Genshin Impact's New Epitomized Path Weapon Pity System Explained

Genshin Impact's Version 2.0 may possibly be one of the game's largest updates so far. In the update's reveal, miHoYo officially announced the arrival of Inazuma, along with many new Genshin Impact characters. Players can also expect a new Wish mechanism called the Epitomized Path, which will be a system added into Genshin Impact's Weapon's Banner.

Weapons play a crucial role in Genshin Impact. Along with Artifacts, weapons are types of equipment that will offer various statuses and effects for playable characters in the game. There are currently five different categories of weapons in Genshin Impact, with each having multiple variations. Like playable characters in the game, players can obtain new weapons through Genshin Impact's Wish System.

5-star weapons are the rarest types of equipment players can obtain in Genshin Impact. It is only available by rolling on Banners, which requires resources like Primogems, Acquaint Fates, and Intertwined Fates. The probability of pulling a promotional weapon is 0.7% per roll. miHoYo has implemented a pity system into Genshin Impact where players are guaranteed a 5-star weapon on the 80th pull. The guaranteed 5-star will have a 75% chance of being one of the promotional weapons, and if players pull 160 times, the chance will increase to 100%. A problem for gamers is that the Weapon's Banner will always feature two promotional weapons. Players aren't guaranteed to obtain the specific Genshin Impact equipment best suited for the account, therefore miHoYo is adding the Epitomized Path, which will help players.

Genshin Impact's Epitomized Path is a new feature that will allow players to select one promotional 5-star weapon in the Epitome Invocation Banner. Genshin Impact's Wish and Banner pull rates will not change, but gamers will be able to work towards obtaining a specific featured weapon. When a player pulls a 5-star weapon that wasn't select, the account will obtain one Fate Point. Players can hold a max of two Fate Points and when the account reaches the maximum, the next 5-star weapon pulled on the Epitome Invocation Banner will be the chosen equipment.

There are a few important pieces of information to remember. Once the player obtains the selected weapon, the Fate Points acquired will be cleared. Fate Points cannot be obtained if a promotional weapon isn't selected. Players can also change or cancel the selected weapon, but Fate Points will revert back to zero. Once the specific Genshin Impact Epitome Invocation Banner ends, all Fate Points within the account will disappear.

miHoYo has continued to add new features that can help fans enjoy the game. The Epitomized Path may not help all players due to the requirements, but the new system will support dedicated fans willing to spend money. Genshin Impact Version 2.0 update is set to arrive July 21 for everyone to enjoy.
