New Suicide Squad 2 BTS Image Shows the Full Cast With James Gunn

James Gunn shares new The Suicide Squad BTS photo showing several cast members together. A standalone sequel and soft-reboot to David Ayer's critically-panned 2016 movie, The Suicide Squad is being helmed by writer-director James Gunn, who joined the DCEU during his brief firing from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Gunn's forthcoming film focuses on the eponymous band of convicts imprisoned as they form the special Task Force X under the watchful eye of A.R.G.U.S. director Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). The antiheroes' central mission involves journeying to South America to destroy a Nazi-era prison and laboratory in return for parole. During the mission, however, the DC Comics team comes across Starro - a mysterious alien starfish and prolific DC villain.

With its release a little over a month away, Gunn has been actively promoting his film on social media, sharing intriguing spoilers, teasers, and trivia about The Suicide Squad. Recently, he unveiled the full list of songs as well as the 13 other DC villains he wanted to use for the film. Gunn's also keeping audiences on their toes as he has confirmed that several characters die during his film. Now, Gunn has shared another interesting tidbit from production of The Suicide Squad, hyping up audiences even more for the film.

This new image from Gunn gives an additional kick to the bustling promotional campaign for The Suicide Squad. After the release of the film's red-band and green-band trailers in March and April respectively, new footage from the movie was unveiled in late June, showcasing Amanda's deal with Bloodsport and the supervillains' war against something called 'Project Starfish'. Earlier this month, characters from the film appeared on the cover of Empire Magazine, with a new Wipeout trailer also teasing guest appearances from Cena and Gunn. On Saturday, The Suicide Squad Funko Pop collection was also revealed.

With Gunn's new behind-the-scenes photo, the countdown to the release of The Suicide Squad continues. While the new image doesn't give away many details concerning the plot of the upcoming movie, it at least reveals that the cast has really bonded over their parts in the movie. This chemistry between the co-actors really bodes well for the film, as it is the quirky team-ups that are vital to The Suicide Squad. To get this entertaining group dynamic right, it's important that the cast has chemistry and it certainly looks like they do.
