Among Us Impostor Replaces Resident Evil 3's Nemesis Thanks To Mod

There is a mod for the Resident Evil 3 Remake that replaces the game’s antagonist – Nemesis – with an Among Us Impostor. This is not the only mod that has enabled the simple Among Us astronauts to turn up in a game far from the maps of The Skeld or The Airship. Recently, crewmates even turned up in NieR: Automata with a little help from yet another skilled modder.

The Impostors and crewmates from Among Us may be straightforward in their design, but they have become some of the most recognizable characters in gaming over the last year and a half. Their seemingly unthreatening and bright curvatures make them an amusing replacement for some of video gaming’s more detailed and imposing foes. And this is certainly the case with a certain Resident Evil 3 Remake mod, that swaps the towering and grotesque Nemesis with an oversized Impostor.

This Resident Evil 3 mod was shown off on Twitter by linkthehylian. The short clip shows hero Jill Valentine as she finally reaches the rooftop of one of Racoon City’s many buildings, hoping to escape the clutches of Nemesis. Alas, she does not, as soon the scene is interrupted by the arrival of Jill’s adversary. Only this time, rather than being a gargantuan figure decked out in sturdy boots and a long leather jacket, Nemesis is instead a visored and angry crewmate from Among Us. What they still have, however, is Nemesis’ brutal flamethrower, therefore ensuring a thoroughly destructive battle between the two characters. The mod even caught the eye of the Among Us game Twitter account, which jokingly replied “S U R P R I S E.” This Resident Evil 3 mod can be purchased from Nexus Mods, as can the Jill Motorcycle Policewoman mod which is also shown in the short clip.

This is not the only crossover to happen within the Resident Evil 3 Remake thanks to mods. Recently one creator added in The Last of Us Part 2’s Ellie, Joel and Abby to the game. Rather than becoming Nemesis, however, this time the three TLOU characters became Jill, Carlos, and Nikolai respectively.

While the Resident Evil 3 Remake was a fun addition for those gamers who were looking for a more modern RE gameplay experience, it has been somewhat criticized for its lack of replayability and short story. However, the use of mods, be it with characters from The Last of Us, Among Us, or even just to add some cosmetic touches, will definitely add some much-needed life back into the title. And there is no denying that with this mod, Nemesis certainly looks incredibly sus. Perhaps an emergency meeting to eject him from Racoon City would have made everyone’s lives much easier – but unfortunately for Jill and Carlos, the mod does not ultimately allow for that to happen.
