The Real Housewives franchise currently has eight active cities. Just because a Bravo fan likes one series doesn't necessarily mean they'll appreciate another. Every week, Bravo releases its ratings for its shows, including Real Housewives. And while the filler episodes are important, most of the views are from in the premiere, finale, or reunions.
Recently, Bravo announced that they were not renewing The Real Housewives of Dallas but didn't give a concrete reason as to why. However, journalist David Quinn suggested the reason for RHOD's cancellation that the reason is because of consistently low ratings. And while RHOD needed a little push in the ratings department, other Real Housewives series have never been better.
8 The Real Housewives Of Dallas: 318,000
When it comes to The Real Housewives of Dallas, the fifth season is widely considered one of its worst. The premiere episode, "Bursting the Quarantine Bubble," came in at 318,000 viewers, according to TV Deets. By the end of the season, ratings stayed roughly the same, with only 368,000 viewers. It goes to show that no matter how wild a Real Housewives reunion can be or how dramatic of a season RHOD had, it wasn't enough to save the unpopular franchise.
7 The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City: 785,000
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's first season was a doozy. Between Jen Shah's freakouts at friends to Heather opening a new business as a single mother, RHOSLC was filled with amazing storylines. But not every Bravo fan was sold.
The premiering episode, "Welcome to Salt Lake City," garnered 785,000 viewers according to TV Deets. That certainly doesn't represent the highest ratings in the franchise, but it's not the very lowest either. Since RHOSLC is a new series in the franchise, fans needed time to warm up to the cast. Still, by the time the finale rolled around, it earned only around 521,000 viewers.
6 The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills: 949,000
In May of this year, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills released season 11 with lower than usual ratings, according to News-Block. Starting the season with 949,000 viewers, the ratings began to go downhill from there. However, now that the drama between Erika Jayne and her former husband, Tom Gerardi, is bound to be one of the most wildest stories in RHOBH history, the series is seeing higher ratings again. With the season still going on, the finale is set to air on August 25.
5 The Real Housewives Of New York City: 960,000
The Real Housewives of New York has had a very dramatic season 13, but the series' viewership has been dipping steadily. There have been oodles of standout seasons over the years for RHONY, but season 13 does not seem to be one of them.
TV by the Numbers stated that the premiere of season 13 had the lowest ratings in RHONY history with about 960,000 viewers. The season is still ongoing, though, so there's no way of knowing how it will turn out in regards of viewership. Meanwhile, Page Six mentioned that the drama among the ladies has affected their plans for filming a reunion this season.
4 The Real Housewives Of Potomac: 1.03 Million
In July of this year, The Real Housewives of Potomac premiered its sixth season with 1.038 million viewers, according to @RatingsBravo. It's a significant drop from season 5, which goes to show that not every season of The Real Housewives of Potomoc goes to plan. Nevertheless, the season is still going on, so Bravo is hoping for more viewers to tune in as the series progresses. Now that the cast has new cast member Mia Thornton in the mix, perhaps RHOP can manage to turn its dwindling ratings around.
3 The Real Housewives Of Orange County: 1.05 Million
As the original series in the Real Housewives franchise, The Real Housewives of Orange County has had its ups and downs over the past 15 seasons. Ever since series all-stars Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge left the show, RHOC hasn't done particularly in the ratings department, with other seasons outranking season 15.
ShowBuzz Daily wrote that the season premiere brough in a solid viewership of 1.051 million. However, this figure represents a 25% drop in viewers when compared to the previous season, proving how poorly season 15 was received, perhaps due to the loss of some of its key cast members.
2 The Real Housewives Of New Jersey: 1.13 Million
Thanks to Teresa Giudice's incredible quotes and the drama she brings to the table, The Real Housewives of New Jersey is consistent with its viewership and gets some of the best ratings in the franchise. As one of the longest-running series in the franchise, RHONJ had a whopping 100,132,000 viewers for its season 11 premiere according to ShowBuzz Daily.
With a storyline circulating around Teresa's new love life, Margaret's new book, and a bad choice of words for Jackie, the season finale finished strong with around 1.006 million viewers according to @RatingsBravo.
1 The Real Housewives Of Atlanta: 1.42 Million
The women of The Real Housewives of Atlanta have had some iconic scenes over the years, but season 13 didn't start off that way. While 1.42 million viewers is higher than some of the other cities in the franchise, it's one of the lowest season premiere ratings in RHOA history. According to Straight from the A, season 7 had the highest number of viewings with 3.83 million. In comparison, season 13's premiere rating represent a significant decline in viewership. The number of viewers for RHOA's finale continued to drop, with 1.38 million tuning in according to TV Deets.
