Gamescom 2021 is bringing four days of games industry news and livestreams, with Gamescom Opening Night Live being the destination for all the biggest reveals. This year's all-digital Gamescom event began August 24 with presentations from Destiny 2 and Xbox, priming viewers for the next three days. Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live promised two full hours of game trailers, updates, and discussion from games publishers around the world.
Hosted by industry insider Geoff Keighley, Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live promised a wide array of publisher appearances. Prior to the show, Keighley teased a first look at Call of Duty: Vanguard gameplay, a Saints Row reboot announcement, the reveal of the next character coming to Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, and new gameplay clips from Death Stranding Director's Cut.
Although Opening Night Live is probably the highlight for many, Gamescom still has more to offer. Indie game fans will want to keep an eye on the Awesome Indies showcase on August 26, while cosplay enthusiasts can catch some exceptional outfits at the Gamescom Cosplay Contest on August 27. Gamescom is typically not as big of an event as E3, but Opening Night Live alone makes it a must watch for gamers.
